Lady Gaga to mentor 'American Idol' Top 4

Jacob Lusk now has one more reason to be bummed about getting cut from "American Idol."

That's because one of the biggest music stars in the world right now will be mentoring the show's Top 4: none other than Lady Gaga.

The superstar singer will serve as the Top 4 mentor according to a tweet from "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest. "I only have one word for our mentor on @AmericanIdol next week.......... Gaga," Seacrest said on his official Twitter account.

Gaga will join her label boss, Jimmy Iovine, in providing direction to the remaining contestants. Iovine was criticized by judge Jennifer Lopez during the Top 5 performance night for urging contestant Haley Reinhart to sing an unreleased Gaga song, "You and I," which the singer performs in concert.

You're all a bunch of idiots. Apparently you have never heard Lady Gaga sing or perform. She has one of the best voices in the business right now. You all just hate her because she's different, because she "craves attnetion". If she craves attention than she would be on TV 24/7 like some other artists like Justin Bieber. He's on just about everything. Gaga decides to stay home most of the time and work on her music. The reason you here about her so much is because when she IS on TV you all are talking about it for weeks. If you're tired of the attention she gets then stop giving it to her. You say she rips off Madonna when Madonna herself loves her. The hate she recieves is nonsensical and ridiculous.

Makes sense to me. Get the most overrated untalented artist to mentor contestants on the most overrated untalented show ever.

    1. Stop hating on Jacob -the 'novelty' singer was Paul.
    2. Pia gets voted off; AI producers feel guilty, allow her to SING on DWTS...AND she's working on an album, while STILL under contract with AI.
    3. Haley tears up Gaga's 'concert' song -2 AI judges attempt to rip her to shreds (Jennifer will be holding her tongue next week)...and Gaga is going to be a mentor next week. As tempting as it would be to watch, I'm through with the show.
    4. Back to #1 -voting on AI, DWTS, and SYTYCD is as strategic to keeping someone is as it is to getting someone kicked off the show (though it is great fun to see the PUBLIC remind the judges to stop ramming 'chosen' contestants down their throats.
    5. Go back to genre nights -sometimes you have to go outside your protective shells to discover what you can really do.
    6. Bring back the vocal coach -it's a BAD idea to go straight into a recording studio that can pretty up your voice.

I wonder if she will be sober since being drunk makes her more creative.

I think they should do a Weird Al Yankovic week. No doubt James would do great. He is the only one that does well every week, every performance.

Lady Gaga is just like Madonna. .her music has a good beat and her styles are what people want to see,as for mentor ,she has not been out there long enough to do so.

Although I don't personally like all of the remaining contestants, I think they all have amazing voices and any one of them could go out right now, cut an album, and do well. Maybe even Jacob. He has a good voice – I'll give him that, but I don't like his style of music. I will have to say, though, that I was shocked Lauren was in the bottom two. She's my pick for the win.

Ahh, wonderful sage advice from a seasoned veteran that has seen and done it all. Why not get the REAL Madonna on there?

There is absolutely no comparison to Jacob and Lauren.........Jacob has a fantastic voice, but teenagers identify themselves with Lauren and that is why the voting system on AI is so bad.

Are you kidding me? did you listen to the same Jacob I did? My God he got worse as the season went on. Lauren at least has a voice, Jacob was a cute novelty that is it there was only one of the Final 12 that was worse and that was Noxema.
