Channing Tatum's stripper past inspires movieChanning Tatum is baring all about his stripper beginnings in an upcoming movie based on his experience as an exotic dancer. As Marquee previously reported, Tatum performed at a Tampa club as Chan Crawford in 1999. Now, director Steven Soderbergh is making a drama inspired by the actor's stint there, reports Deadline. In the film, the "21 Jump Street" star will play a veteran dancer who teaches a newcomer how to hustle on and off stage. Expect lots of partying and women.
"This was a wild and pivotal time in my life," says Tatum, "and I couldn't be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven." Adds Soderbergh, "When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I'd ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It's sexy, funny and shocking. We're using 'Saturday Night Fever' as our model, so hopefully we're on the right track." What do you think of Tatum's stripper movie?
