Cate Blanchett to appear on 'Family Guy'She's had some of the most dignified and acclaimed roles in the world, and now Cate Blanchett is going for a new gig: a guest starring role on "Family Guy." According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award winning actress will pop in for an episode next spring on the hit Fox animated series. No details yet on Blanchett's character. The actress is currently filming "The Hobbit" in New Zealand.

I use to think the show was very funny, but now some of it is so rude and offensive, I don't even find it funny. I find they focus on the other characters too much and need to focus more on Peter. Peter is hilarious.

Family Guy is great because it picked up where the Simpsons died. Seth wasn't afraid to be edgy and creative, and that's what draws crowds. The fact that the crappy Simpsons are still on is a testament to how big Family Guy has become; Matt Groening simply doesn't want to realise he already lost the comedy race. Let the Simpsons die with whatever miniscule amount of dignity they have left. ...Also, giggity.

Family Guy is too clever for most people. Even a lot of people who watch the show don't really "get it". Seth McFarlane = too awesome. His works dominate Sunday night television for a very good reason, so don't hate just because you'd rather be watching Will & Grace or Friends.

Hey I make a good life for my family. For all the office stuff I put up with day to day, insane customers, and general craziness of life I deserve something better. My escape is The Simpsons (been watching since Tracy Ulman Show), Family Guy, and American Dad (reminds my husband of my ex lol). SM keep up the tradition of putting tradition in a purple nurple like MG. MG by the way has Stephen Hawking as a fan and guest star. Cate is joining a happy few!

I love both South Park and Family Guy, and these are shows that still have a strong following after many seasons. I can understand people not liking the show (unlike many of us), but to say the show is terrible with such authority is to pretend you speak for anyone else but yourself, which is not a really smart thing to do.
And really, how can you not giggle everytime you come across with the phrase "giggity"?

Isn't the idea of the entertainment section to report on things going on in the entertainment world? I know it's obviously not the biggest news story ever, but it does still go with the idea set forth for this area of CNN. Those who say this isn't news worthy for this section obviously only want reports of people in Hollywood dying. I don't. I find this interesting seeing as how most of her work has been very respectable and high end. Not that there is anything wrong with doing family guy. I find the show entertaining. Just wonder what sort of role she will play.

It was once a good show and then the dumb writers decided to get overly political and recycle stories from older episodes.

FYI in a cartoon the characters are DRAWN so if the artist has the ability to draw a FLEA it can star in the show. and on top of that is Seth mcFarlan can mimic the sound of a donkey then they can draw a Flea that sounds like a Donkey.
