Singer Paige Miles may not have won "American Idol" last season, but she has plenty of reasons to be thankful.
The Top 11 finalist from last year escaped a burning car Tuesday night after leaving a rehearsal in South Florida.
Miles told CNN she had been in rehearsals for the lead role in a production of "Beehive" when her mother's Envoy caught fire after the electrical system failed.
The singer said the experience was terrifying.
"Seriously one of the scariest things ever to happen to me," Miles said via e-mail.
Miles, who recently performed at the Reality Rocks Expo, had to jump out of the window to escape the flames. With the scary incident behind her, Miles said she is focused on her starring role in the production and her new album, which is expected to drop this summer.
"I can't wait for everyone to hear what I've been working on," she said. "The final draft is almost ready."

She sure was lucky to make it out unharmed. Just goes to show you that you dont have to be an AI winner to be successful. Good luck to her future endeavors and thank God she wasnt hurt in that accident.
Well, getting burned turned her black, but it looks like she is otherwise okay.
Yup, that would be scary allright !
