Two of the stars from AMC’s “The Killing” are slaying the competition.
Both Mireille Enos, who portrays Detective Sarah Linden on the show, and Joel Kinnaman, who plays the other detective, Stephen Holder, have snagged major feature film roles, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Enos is in talks to star as Brad Pitt’s wife in the actor’s upcoming adaptation of Max Brooks’ “World War Z.” Pitt himself is starring as a U.N. worker in the movie, which recounts a global zombie apocalypse through the first-hand accounts of those who survived it.
Marc Forster is on hand as director, and the movie will begin filming in locations like London and Malta in June.
Enos’ co-star Kinnaman, meanwhile, is teaming up with Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds for the thriller “Safe House.”
The movie tells the story of a CIA agent (played by Reynolds) who survives an attack on an agency-operated safe house and finds himself attempting to transport a dangerous prisoner (Washington) to another one.
Kinnaman shows up in the storyline as an operator of another safe house that Reynolds and Washington’s characters travel to.
“Safe House," which also stars Vera Farmiga, Brendan Gleeson and Tim McGraw, is scheduled to arrive in February, 2012.
