If you think you’ve heard everything Levi Johnston could possibly say during his 15 minutes of fame, think again.
It turns out that Sarah Palin’s former future son-in-law has enough material on his relationship with the Alaska-based brood to fill an entire book.
Johnston, “best known as Bristol Palin’s baby daddy,” according to a statement, will “set the record straight” in his upcoming text, “Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs.”
The book will contain his “often funny and moving coming-of-age story,” and Johnston, 20, says he wants to “tell the truth about my close relationship with the Palins, my sense of Sarah and my perplexing fall from grace – how I feel and what I’ve learned.”
But why write a book, you ask? The young father has an answer: “I’m doing this for me, for my boy Tripp and for the country,” he reveals in the statement.
“Deer in the Headlights” will be published by Touchstone, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, and is expected to arrive in the fall.
Stacy Creamer, VP and publisher of Touchstone, describes the book as “sweet and funny…with a touch of irony,” and “a fascinating tale of a misunderstood boy figuring out how to be a man and a father after being thrust into the spotlight and subsequent media circus at a young and vulnerable age.”
We wonder how varied Johnston's viewpoint will be from that of Bristol's, who is writing her own book about growing up Palin called "Not Afraid of Life," which is scheduled to arrive this summer.
