Jim Carrey's on his way to 'The Office'

Expect the season finale of "The Office" to end on a truly funny note now that Jim Carrey has signed on to appear in the hourlong episode.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Carrey will join fellow guest stars Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano and Catherine Tate as candidates who want to take over the job vacated by former Dunder Mifflin office manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

Though Will Ferrell, who plays Deangelo Vickers, seems to have a lock on the job at the moment, Spader and "Doctor Who" alum Tate are likely to be the most serious contenders to take over for Carell, since all of the other actors are committed to other projects.

100 episodes of '30 Rock' lunacy

"30 Rock" was its most outlandish on Thursday night with a full hour to mark its 100th episode.

A gas leak being handled by Michael Keaton was reason enough for the show to throw reality to the wind (even more so than usual). At first, it caused everyone to remember some of the best moments of the past five years, in true clip-show fashion (a sitcom tradition which was coincidentally skewered on the same night on "Community"). It was even pointed out more than once that Danny didn't remember most of this, as the newest "TGS" cast member.

Speaking of "TGS," Kabletown has threatened to cancel it, news which couldn't come at a worse time, with Tracy missing in action and trying to go back to his old "I am a Jedi!" persona from the first episode.

Mel Gibson: I don't care if I never act again

In a brutally honest new interview, Mel Gibson opens up about the aftermath of those rants at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and says he doesn't care if he never acts again.

Gibson admits to Deadline that he regrets the harsh things he said in the recorded tirades that were leaked last year, but claims the public didn't treat him any differently afterward.

"I was angry at me. But no one expressed any anger at me. They may have felt it," he says, adding that he never worried about how the incident might affect his career. "I don't care if I don't act anymore… I could easily not act again. It's not a problem."

It's a boy for Jane Krakowski

"30 Rock" star Jane Krakowski has landed a new role: first-time mom. The actress just gave birth to a baby boy!

Bennett Robert Godley was born to Krakowski and fiancé Robert Godley on April 13 in New York City, her rep tells CNN. The blond-haired bundle of joy is the couple's first child.

"Bennett is an amazing, healthy sweet boy and we are both just crazy in love with him," says Krakowski, who showed off her baby bump on last night's episode of "30 Rock" when her character, Jenna Maroney, contemplates having a child for publicity.

They seem to have babies on the brain over at the NBC series: Krakowski's co-star Tina Fey is also expecting a child and Elizabeth Banks welcomed son Felix in March.

Diane Lane: No reality TV for me, thank you

She may play one of the first-ever reality TV stars in HBO's upcoming "Cinema Verite," but Diane Lane insists she is not a fan of the genre.

"I will have shows that I watch, but not reality shows. There are too many channels and only so many minutes to live," Lane, who plays Pat Loud, the mother of the family profiled in the 1973 PBS docu-series "An American Family," tells Vulture. "And ever since Princess Diana and Dodi were being following by the paparazzi, before the tragic end of their lives, I decided I didn’t want to put any weight on that side of the scale in terms of my attention."

Lane never met Diana but Dodi al-Fayed was a friend of the family, and the couple's tragic death following a car chase in Paris made her view reality shows differently.

J.Lo at work on TV talent competition of her own

Is Jennifer Lopez voting herself off "American Idol" already?

The actress/singer is currently working on a music-competition reality series of her own, according to Entertainment Weekly. The show, called "Que Viva," would find Lopez and husband Marc Anthony traveling throughout Latin America to discover fresh, new talent.

"Que Viva," which will be produced by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, has been in development for quite some time and is currently being shopped around to networks.
