Move over, Betty White — Cedric the Entertainer is about to get "Hot in Cleveland."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the comedian will appear in episodes of the popular TV Land show this summer before getting his own spinoff.
The upcoming series will see Cedric playing a minister who gets caught up in the adventures of the "Hot in Cleveland" cast, which includes White, Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves.
The long-discussed sequel to the Emmy-winning Internet musical "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" is at least a little closer to reality. Writer-director Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") told the New York Times, "We’ve done a lot of work on it."
The three-part short - which has a companion book that was just released in stores - starred Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day and Simon Helberg, and originally streamed online in 2008. It immediately became a sensation, especially among Whedon's legion of devoted fans, who often perform it at conventions.
(It also increased the fanbase of all four actors, including "Castle" star Fillion and Day, whose own web series, "The Guild," is currently filming a fifth season.)
Fireworks erupted on morning television today after Donald Trump apparently got his feathers ruffled during a TV interview about his potential candidacy for president.
It all began when "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos asked him why he was still pursuing the issue of President Obama’s birth certificate. Trump tried to move on to the next question but George wasn’t letting him get away with it! It made us wonder how Trump would handle the pressure of actually running for president if and when he actually announces his plan to run!
I don’t think he can take the heat of a run for the White House, and we have even more on "Showbiz Tonight" later today including the back and forth between George and The Donald, as well as our pick for Trump’s “Celebrity ‘Appresident.’”
She's highly accomplished, raunchy and definitely hilarious. If you've watched any movies or TV shows in the last 50 or so years, you've come to know Oscar-winning actress Cloris Leachman well.
Some of Leachman's most notable roles were Phyllis on "Mary Tyler Moore," Nurse Diesel in "High Anxiety" and Frau Blucher in "Young Frankenstein." More recently she starred as the Great Gam Gam in "Beerfest" and plays the grandma with dementia on Fox's hit show "Raising Hope."
Since Leachman has been in show business for quite a while, there really isn't a ton people don't know about her. But when she visited us at CNN.com to answer iReport questions, we learned some tidbits about Cloris Leachman that you still may not know.
We can only hope they’re planning to perform in malls across the country: ‘80s singer Tiffany is working on tour dates with Debbie Gibson, according to the New York Post.
Tiffany, who’s currently touring for her release “Rose Tattoo,” told the Post that they’re planning to kick it old school.
"We want to journey through the '80s and all the artists who influenced us," she revealed, adding that covers of Reba McIntyre, Guns ‘N’ Roses and Stevie Nicks and even Broadway tunes aren’t out of the question for the performances. Plus, you know, their own songs, as well.
Of course, Tiffany and Gibson have already teamed up for a past project: SyFy’s “Mega Python vs. Gatoroid.” Perhaps they should consider joining their touring efforts with a few other '80s acts who are hitting the road.
The subject matter of “The Help” involves a serious topic – racial injustice in the 1960s South - but the newly released trailer for the anticipated film opts for a more humorous approach.
“Easy A” star Emma Stone stars as Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, a recent grad returning to her roots in Jackson, Mississippi, when segregation still ruled.
One of its chief proponents is Hilly (Bryce Dallas Howard), who’s seen in the trailer promoting a bill that would require the African-American hired help to use an outdoor restroom rather than the one used by the white families they care for.
