Julia Louis-Dreyfus to play VP in HBO comedy"Seinfeld" alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus is getting into politics. The Emmy-winning actress will star as the vice president of the United States in HBO's upcoming comedy series "Veep." According to Deadline, Louis-Dreyfus will play Selina Meyer, a former senator who is elected vice president and discovers that the gig isn't quite what she was expecting. The series, which is set "very near the White House," will co-star Anna Chlumsky (who starred in the 1991 Macaulay Culkin drama "My Girl") as Meyer's chief of staff and Tony Hale ("Arrested Development") as her right-hand man. "Veep" is Louis-Dreyfus' third prime-time series since "Seinfeld" ended in 1998. She previously headlined the short-lived "Watching Ellie" and, most recently, "The New Adventures of Old Christine." Will you watch Louis-Dreyfus in her new HBO show? |

Too Old?? Too young maybe! But Julia Louis-Dreyfus can play any kind of comedy. I know everyone loved her in Seinfeld and she was really good in it, but watch the reruns of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and you will see how funny this woman can be. She was brilliant. That show was so good, well written, quick, and sharp, yet it got canceled to make room for CBS and their dreck show juggernaut. It makes CBS execs look like morons! Good luck on HBO, Julia! "Veep" sounds great.
Super M.I.L.Hug ALERT
Based on a UK show, which was good
Look it up, people, this is an Armando Iannucci show, so it'll be great. Rent The Thick of It or In the Loop - I'm assuming Chlumsky's playing the same character from the latter. This should be hilarious.
HBO = boobies?
Julia's great! MIss her on "Old Christine"....they should bring that show back!!
I had almost forgot about Anna Chlumsky, she played a great part in the My Girl movies.
This hag needs to retire.
I gotcha a hag in my pants... *TEWY*
Absolutely! I think she's the best comedy actress since Lucy.
Kinda agree. She doesn't really work well outside of the Elaine character on Seinfeld. Kinda like Jennifer Aniston on Friends. She can't play any other character.
You, MISTER, need to GET TO WORK!!
i was kind of hoping no one would even comment on this blog. that would show how little we actually care for her. she just isnt funny.
Never. She is high on the comedian cringe factor and I prefer laughing with a comedian rather than cringing when I hear thm speak.
Black Man? You mean like Obama? He isnt black. He is half and half.
Absolutely. I like her. I think she'd make a great VP. I do look forward to seeing it.
She is too old plus this story has zero percent of ever actually happening.
How old should a VP be? And do you mean like the zero percent chance of a black man becoming president?
I am 21. I listen to these guys on the radio and heard this. Now I am hooked on Seinfeld reruns that I am seeing for the first time and she looks pretty cute too!
