Plenty of girls dream about being Bella to Robert Pattinson's Edward, but who did the "Twilight" hunk swoon over when he was a teen?
"I was always obsessed with Kate Moss," he tells Elle magazine. "On my bedroom wall I had a poster of Linda Blair and Kate Moss. I always liked Jane Fonda. Who else? Ellen Burstyn."
But those on Team Edward should prepare themselves for Pattinson's upcoming turn in "Bel Ami." The 24-year-old actor will portray a social-climbing womanizer — a far cry from the brooding bloodsucker he plays in the "Twilight" films, Elle notes.
"I thought it was funny as well—'Twilight' having quite a bit of a female audience—to play a guy who basically screws women out of money," he says. "I like the fact that you never hear of a movie where the bad guy stabs every single person in the back and then wins."
With the "Twilight" films wrapping up, the "Water for Elephants" star is looking toward the future, which he hopes will mean a bit more anonymity but not total obscurity.
"You know, when the whole thing dries up and there’s hardly any paparazzi around—I don’t know, in 15 years or something—I like the idea of just one paparazzo coming out and trying to get a picture, and I just beat the [expletive] out of him," he says.
Does the actor envision himself eventually working the sci-fi convention circuit and signing autographs for Twi-Hards when he's a middle-aged man?
"I mean, that would be totally fine—if I didn’t have any responsibilities, if it didn’t affect my career anymore," he says. "I did a couple of those after 'Harry Potter,' when I was totally unemployed. You can have so much fun. There are so many weirdos there."
