He may sing "My Life" but Billy Joel doesn't want to share details about it: The six-time Grammy winner has just pulled the plug on his upcoming memoir.
"The Book of Joel" was to be released by HarperCollins in June but the singer has now decided to stop its publication, explaining that he doesn't want to discuss ancient history.
"It took working on writing a book to make me realize that I'm not all that interested in talking about the past, and that the best expression of my life and its ups and downs has been and remains my music," the thrice-married star, who has been treated for alcohol abuse, said in a statement to CNN.
The Piano Man signed a $3 million deal to pen the book for HarperCollins in 2008, reports the New York Times. He will return the advance that he has already received to the publishers.
