 Kirstie Alley slams George Lopez for pig joke"Dancing With the Stars" contestant Kirstie Alley is putting her foot down and blasting comedian George Lopez for comparing her to a pig on his talk show, reports Entertainment Weekly. On Wednesday, Lopez made rude remarks about Alley's appearance on the ABC dance competition, saying she "did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away." He added that prior to the show, "she went to the market, and then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home!” He then ran GEICO ad footage of a squealing piglet. ("Lopez Tonight" airs on TBS, which is owned by the parent company of CNN.) Lopez has since tweeted, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie," but it looks like the former "Fat Actress" star isn’t buying it and is taking her own jabs at the late-night host. "Don’t worry about George’s comments," the former Jenny Craig spokesperson told her Twitter followers. "Just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf …falls in a boiling pot of vodka. Piggy laughs.” Update, 11:20 a.m.: Alley has since responded to Lopez's apology, tweeting, "@georgelopez I don't need or want ur apology...I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted...give it back." In 2005, Lopez's then-wife donated her kidney when Lopez needed a transplant. He told People at the time, "I can't pay her back, but what I can do is make her as happy as she thought I would when we first got married." The couple has since separated, announcing in September, 2010 that their 17-year marriage had come to an end.

(Thats not nice) I know its not nice to take about people but he did tweet her back and apologized. but by some of these comments a Minority or "Ugly Vodca Drinking Latino comedian" must not like KA because shes White or Fat? (Now thats funny!)
Lopez looks more like a pig in those two photos, never found his humour funny and I wouldn't be upset if he passed away.

There is really no way to cut it when you start promoting yourself as the star of a show about a fat actress weight jokes are not far behind. Maybe Kristie should be more conscious of the career moves she makes, and if that means putting down the 8th slice of cake before someone offers her the lead role in Charolette's Web. I think Kirstie is great, and the fact she is at least trying and doing a fantastic job whether she's overweight or not... I'd like to see some of these people go out there and shake their booty in front of all of those critical people... Maybe "Georgie Porgie" should try before he makes fun of her. I wish Kirstie Alley had been gracious in response to George Lopez's apology. Bringing up his divorce and kidney transplant seems intentionally mean. Basically she is saying, "Give back that kidney-and die!" I guess this proves just how much fat jokes can hurt. I hope one day she can accept his apology. And every comic needs to periodically assess whether their jokes are going too far. There are a lot of comics who are so mean I can't stand to watch them.

I love Kirstie and have never been a fan of George's. However, I find it interesting that Kirstie is okay with being called fat if she is being paid i.e., Fat Actress and Jenny Craig but then has a problem with it when she's not being paid. She's made a lot of money over the past few years letting her weight be her major draw.

Most people aren't being honest here. First of all, comedians and many other people have been making fun of fat people for years and years. And I was watching Lopez the night the bit ran, and it was FUNNY. The audience laughed lke crazy and I laughed at home. It wouldn't have mattered if the joke were about Kirstie, our blessed Oprah, or the previous Drew Carey – it was very FUNNY. Now, when you think about how it personally hurts someone, then it becomes less funny. Kirsty Alley is an interesting, beautiful and exciting person, no matter what she weighs! George Lopez is a person who can be funny but who is so damaged that it is effecting everything in his life. If I were him, I would NOT cast stones or be mean with anyone. Kirsty also needs to forgive and leave him in the dust. You can't fix him or shame him, because he hasn't hit bottom yet.

In fact a person does not choose to be ugly and without extreme surgery cant change. Fat on the other hand is 100 percent controllable. I'm sorry most fat people choose to be fat. I should know I was 100 lbs overweight but have recently got down to 180 lbs, (I'm 5'11). When I was fat I chose to sit around on the weekends, I chose to to order the extra 99 cent burger. I now choose to treat my life like its the only one I got, I choose to workout after working two jobs. I'm just saying making fun of someone for bring ugly may be worse than making fun of someone because they are fat. Both are bad though. Peace.

Dancing with the Stars always hasan over weight woman competing. Kirstie Alley is this seasons Bristol Palin. To her credit Kirstie Alley has worked hard to do her best for the show. And one thing is for certain, that Momma got Back.

I have several thoughts.
1. I've always liked George, and I think he's pretty funny, most of the time. I thought this "joke" was funny too, mixing worded description with the graphic of the pig squealing – pretty funny to me. Unfortunately, it was also insensitive and thoughtless.
2. Kirstie was a bit thin skinned by even responding to it. Should have kept her head up, and not dignified it with a response.
3. I think Kirstie is a lovely woman, and I like large women, but I also think she's let herself go a little too much. She isn't just large, she IS fat! Lose a little, girl.
4. For a 60 year old woman, she looks pretty dang good anyway!
5. The only thing I don't like about her is that sometimes she appears to be smiling, but often that smile looks more like a sneer. That doesn't look so attractive.
6. Overall, this has been much ado about nothing.
It is also sad how the Spanish bash the white skin! Yet,they leave their country into our living space and use us and Welfare! So,what does George have to say about that! He does not put down what they do wrong for a joke or laughs!

I think the point of this whole thing is if you have problems you shouldn't be making fun of anyone with them too, because who the hell are you to do it? George had (maybe still has) a drinking problem. No one made him drink either, just like it's Kirstie's own action to overeat. It's not just some life threatening surgery he had, he brought himself to that point of having to have it. It would be the same thing if she had weight loss surgery. It still can be dangerous but she still brought herself to that point. And on top of that he has been fat too. So he has more crap than she has. At the same time do any of us know what may have pushed either of these people to the point of having these problems. Sometimes something happens in our lives that we can't handle, we may be predisposed to having disorders through our family anyway (alcoholism, eating disorders) and it sets it off. Someone mentioned a guy Kirstie was with who broke it off with her shortly before she "ballooned up", in his words. To me that's kind of a red flag. Maybe that was just too much for her to handle and set off the binging. Some people drink to forget problems, some people eat. And then it just became an addiction. I think George and Kirstie have a lot more in common than they think. Instead of making fun of each other, and in turn, others with the same conditions maybe get together and try helping others and themselves.

I don't think it's a matter of "not wanting people to point it out then do something about it". That's also like saying if that person doesn't want people to say what a big ugly nose they have they should get a nose job. Really? Should they do that because people are saying something about it or because they want to? She should lose the weight for herself and health reasons if she wants to be healthier. And she has actually. Doing DWTS was probably the smartest thing she could do. It's a great excercise, she lost a lot of weight, and she helped boost her career. The issue is about so-called comedians making stupid unfunny jokes at the expense others who struggle with an issue or even those who can't help the way they were born (race, etc). And we give them millions to entertain us. If all you have as a comedian is fat, racist, etc, jokes to tell then move over and give the next real comedian your money so we can actually be entertained. Kirstie was here in Phoenix in September of 2010 and believe me she is NOT that large. The cameras add a lot of weight. She had beautiful, youthful skin. I was about 4 feet from her and was amazed how young she looked.

Kristie is a wonderful person.. I have followed her career for a long time. her weight has nothing to do with who she is.. I really like her personalty. I would liked to have been one of her circle of friends. Her outlook on life and humor is great. I am a large woman who knows the whats its like to be judged by just how you look by many who are way too large with their own egos.
One thing for sure about Kristie, she is a open and honest person. She has a golden personality and heart which is a millions times brighter and larger than those who criticize her could never imagine.

Wow, I have to side with Lopez on this one. He has a late night talk show for crying out loud, he's supposed to be making jokes about celebrities. He makes fun of people all the time, he's a comedian, that's his job. Why should he have to apologize to Kirstie Alley?

Comedians naturally want to be funny and make people laugh, but they often cross the line in doing so. Nothing new there.
Ok I was all for the comedy of it, from both sides, thinking that they are both probably laughing at everyone else more. But the racist stuff on the mexican come in. GEORGE LOPEZ is AMERICAN and any one. He was born in Mission Hils, LA, California in 1961, raised by his grandmother who is american. That says it all (He was born 50 years ago here in american, yet people probaly younger then him are screaming for him to go back, and to where?). I"m surprised Kirstie was offended . . . she pokes fun of her own weight and he said it in the context of his comedy routine. There is so much insult hurling in the world of comedy, half the jokes wouldn't exist if there wasn't. If you have to quantify everything then the spontanaety is lost. Like I said I'm surprised at Kirstie for being so sensitive. I'm an overweight gal myself and truly in the context of a comedic routine it wouldn't bother me; if it was with malicious intent during a conversation or a public event sans comedy, then it would make a difference and really would only reflect poorly on the part of the deliverer.

I just don't think it is funny to single someone out over their appearance and hurt someone's feelings in such a way. It is often funny to make stereotypical jokes, jokes about how certain men or women dress/act, or even observational, light-hearted ethnic jokes/gender jokes; they work because everyone gets made fun of with those jokes, but I would never want to hurt someone's feelings and joke about their size, big ears or nose or deformity. It's just not funny to me to single people out.
Comedian or not, if you are making fun of people in such a way you clearly have some issues of your own. Look at Joan Rivers and how she made fun of Liz Taylor's weight all those years. The funny thing was, Liz took a look in the mirror, probably said to herself, "yeah, I DO need to do something about this" and lost weight and looked more gorgeous than most women half her age while Joan kept getting more and more work done.

Why is it OK for people to say "Gee, you sure are skinny!" and everybody gets upset when the tables are turned. I have had to put up with that for all 65 years of my life. Now at my age I don't turn the other cheek: If you are FAT, then you shouldn't have any problem with being called a PIG. I have had to put up with: toothpick, matchstick, zipper, etc. so she shouldn't complain. I think our whole country is too fat and discriminates against thin people. Why should I have to pay the same airfair as someone who weighs twice as much. Or pay the same price for a pair of size 30 pants as someone who buys a size 44. There is twice as much material and labor in the larger size. So I end up subsidizing that FAT person's clothes. And their airfare also. I am damn sick of FAT people being so sensitive......learn to eat less and exercise more. And before everyone jumps in about people with medical problems, let me state: they are less than 1 % of the FAT people.

You still have to eat something in order to live; you still have to deal with food on a daily basis. It would be easier to be an alcoholic or addict, since those substances are not constantly in your face. Think about that before you judge.

Let me get this straight. The woman who did a show called "FAT Actress" is upset that people are making fun of her for her weight? Does anyone remember Don Rickels' acts? In his time he was considered hiLARious, especially by the people in the audience that he heckled. A few years later and we're empathizing with the character in 'The Nutty Professor' when he experiences the same bashing. Yes, George Lopez is a paid comedian but as a human being, he should have enough class to refrain from making bad 'jokes' about a woman's size or looks....geez, no wonder we're all running off to plastic surgeons.
Joan Rivers was another who got downright mean with her 'jokes'....Liz Taylor was the recipiant of Joan's 'fat jokes' and she said later that you don't forget those hurts. Jimmy Fallon lost me as an audience when he made such crass 'jokes' to Tiger Woods the other day. On air. Somethings we can giggle at, somethings are demeaning. I am in great shape and I don't smoke and have 1 or 2 drinks every other day or so. I go to the doctor once a year for physicals and that's it. And I don't have risky behaviors. I'm not driving up health care costs and I'm not going to apologize for being healthier than the rest of the fat slobs in this country. Frankly the world looks pretty crappy from this high horse I'm on because all I see beneath me are whiners who would rather make excuses and complain about being fat than do something about it. Medications, hormones, low income people make bad food choices because sometimes it can be CHEAPER to feed a family BAD foods than to buy GOOD foods they cant afford, and the family will be hungry AGAIN in two hours.

Have you ever asked an overweight person why they are overweight? It's so easy to judge people when you don't take the time to learn about them. Everyone just assumes they are lazy or that they don't care. You know what? It sucks being fat. In many cases, there are factors that make it difficult to lose weight. Here, I'll give you an example:
Up until I started having problems with depression I weighed 135 lbs. Over 10 years later, I'm overweight. I started overeating to cope with the abuse I went through as a child. I didn't know any better. I didn't know how to cope with the PTSD and depression, and my doctor wasn't any help. He put me on an anti-depressant and left it at that. I continued to overeat. Last year, I made the decision to see a psychologist. I'm learning to cope, but this takes time and it wasn't until recently that I was able to deal with the overeating. I'm on a 1500 calorie a day nutrition plan and I workout 3 to 5 times a week. It would be great if the weight came off as fast as it came on, but anyone with a brain knows it's not that easy. I was also recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism, not HYPER, can make it difficult for a person to lose weight. I've been losing about 1 pound a week. Once we get my medication right I should be losing 2 or more pounds a week.
I'm sure that people make comments about me behind my back. No one's ever brave enough to say it to my face. They can't see the changes I'm making in my life because they don't know me. So, don't assume that all "fat" people are the same. Keep your rude comments to yourself. No one needs your negativity.
