After a fleeting glimpse of the movie on Super Bowl Sunday, fans finally got a look at the full trailer for "Captain America: The First Avenger" when it was released by Marvel Comics and Paramount Pictures on Wednesday.
Hardcore fans of the comic book, which dates back to 1941, will be pleased to know that the movie follows the character's origin story very closely.
Casual viewers might be astonished to see how it plays out: Steve Rogers, a short, skinny World War II recruit, is transformed (with the help of Stanley Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones) into a muscular "super-soldier" who becomes Captain America.
Both versions of Steve are played by Chris Evans, who explained to MTV last year that - after trying the same facial replacement effect as seen with Jeff Bridges in "Tron: Legacy" - they were able to shrink him down, digitally. As the trailer shows, there seem to be many scenes with the pre-"super" Steve, and it's a great example of movie magic.
Fans on Twitter, who have been eagerly awaiting this trailer, gave it high marks: Jer1ch0 tweeted that it "looks amazing and Tony Stark's dad is part of the super soldier project, that is VERY cool."
"SWEET CHRISTMAS!" tweeted WonderAli. "That #CaptainAmericaTrailer is so, so awesome!!"
Padt was captivated by one of Tucci's lines in particular: "The weak knows the value of strength, knows the value of power."
"The #CaptainAmericaTrailer editor knows how to tell an engaging story. We'll see if the film follows through," wrote DorkmanScott.

Mystique...hmmm, THERE'S a franchise waiting to happen....
Anyway...definitely looking forward to the Cap movie, I wish they would move it up to around the July 4th weekend (Very appropriate, no ?).
IF this movie's a hit, every B and C lister comic book character probably get their own movie made...Iron Fist & Power Man, a Daredevil re-boot maybe a Black Widow adventure or...dare we say it ???
A HOWARD THE DUCK Re-BOOT ???
Cap is cool, though. Now Mystique from the X-men.... whoo-hoo!
But we still think Cap is cool. But Mystique from the X-men..... oh, baby, baby!
We still like Batman the best, dudes, 'cuz he's the only one who isn't a) from another pplanet, b) radioactive, or c) product of experiments or technology!
what a bunch of bitter, sad commenters on this blog. Either that or DC fanboys. There ain't nothing wrong with liking ALL comic companies. Marvel has its merits just like any company. I'm sorry but a b-league comic movie would be Daredevil. Captain America looks great. And dont be jello just because Chris Evans is better looking than you and every single member of your family.
Man you tards wouldn't know good entertainment if it slapped you in the face. Movies are made for eating popcorn and enjoying some time off from the problems of the real world...its called ENTERTAINMENT! Stop being so whiny and critical.
I will go see this movie and I support Marvel as most of their flicks are worth seeing.
Why dont they remake Gone WIth The Wind or CItizen Kane ? They could do them in 3D. That is all Hollywood does these days. Remakes. Yuck.
Not impressed. Looks like another popcorn flick with a second rate actor in the lead role. Everyone just needs to get over the hype for this movie. The only 'things' that were bulked up for this movie were apparently Chris Evan's DD size breasts. Pathetic. Wow, another Watchmen movie. People just need to grow up and stop acting like little children over all the hype.
DD breasts?? That's called muscle. I'm sure your obesely overweight with your gut hanging over your belt and you haven't seen the inside of a gym since they kicked you out of gym class in the 5th grade. Put down the cheeseburger and get some exercise you fat @$$ arm chair fcktard.
Oh GAG! Not another played out, over rated, Marvel Comic made into a movie. Spare us PLEASE!
Meh. B-league hero. B-league movie.
How is Cap a B-league hero? Every character in the Marvel Universe considers him the next best thing to Jesus
