Thanks to "Skinnygirl" margaritas, Bethenny Frankel's wallet is now a little bit fatter.
The reality star/author/chef has sold her "Skinnygirl" spirits brand to Fortune Brand's Beam Global Spirits & Wine unit for an undisclosed amount, her rep confirmed to CNN.
The 100 calories-per-serving, ready-to-drink margaritas were developed by Frankel, a natural foods chef who got her start in television as runner-up on "Martha Stewart's Apprentice" and later appeared as an original cast member of "The Real Housewives of New York City."
“Partnering with Fortune Brands and Beam Global was the right move at this time," said Frankel in a statement to CNN. "I created a new category that needs their muscle and distribution to take this concept worldwide in the immediate future.”
Frankel currently stars in the Bravo reality show "Bethenny Ever After," and her new book, "A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life" debuts in stores on Tuesday.
Fortune Brands is the world's fourth largest premium spirits company, and includes brands like Jim Beam, Courvoisier and Maker's Mark.
