Mel Gibson gets booked

The same day that Jodie Foster was singing Mel Gibson’s praises at the SXSW premiere of their film “The Beaver,” Gibson was busy being booked.

The actor headed over to the El Segundo Police Department in California on Wednesday as part of the sentence that was handed down last week after he entered a “no contest” plea on a misdemeanor battery charge related to a prior incident with his ex, Oksana Grigorieva.

The actor has been sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation and 52 weeks of anger management counseling. He must also complete 16 hours of community service work and pay a $400 domestic violence fine and $180 in other fees.

The actor was released on $20,000 bail.

Selena Gomez gets grilled about Bieber romance

After going public with reported beau Justin Bieber at Vanity Fair's Oscar party in February, Selena Gomez is finally opening up about their relationship — just a teeny bit.

Gomez was grilled about her romance with Bieber during an appearance last night on the "Late Show with David Letterman." The talk-show host began by showing the singer-actress a photo of the couple at the Vanity Fair party.

"Oh, that's cute!" Gomez said coyly, before adding, "It was like a little prom night, wasn't it? Looked like it."

Next, Letterman asked how long the pair have known each other. "Uh, almost, like, two years now," Gomez said. "Actually, his manager called my mom, who's my manager."

Letterman didn't let her off the hook and continued to push for more details, asking point blank if they are dating. The blushing Disney star would only say, "He's been in my life for so long, and it's just nice to have someone that understands what you're going through."

Is L.A. Reid the first judge for 'X Factor'?

Lips are sealed pretty tightly, but speculation is heating up that "X-Factor" has its first judge.

Reports are swirling that music industry mogul L.A. Reid has been tapped as the first to sit at the judge's table for Simon Cowell's new talent search.

Reid added to the speculation Thursday when he stepped down from his post as chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group.

Johnny Knoxville on 'Stooges' movie: It's a no go

Though he seems born to play the part, Johnny Knoxville has no plans to play the part of Moe in the upcoming "Three Stooges" movie.

The "Jackass" star, who was rumored to be a front-runner for the role, made his announcement official in a recent statement on Knoxville.com. "I will not be appearing as Moe in 'The Three Stooges,' I love the Stooges, and I love the Farrellys," he said. "A couple of movies I have lined up kept me from it. More on those later."

As Marquee previously reported, the "Three Stooges" movie is slated to begin shooting in April but still has no cast. The PG comedy—featuring three 27-minute shorts filled with slapstick—was to star Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey as Larry, Moe and Curly, respectively. Penn and Carrey exited the project and Del Toro still remains a question mark.

"We got everything in place, but we don't have the cast yet," filmmaker Bobby Farrelly recently told CNN. "But we're looking diligently. There's a lot of good guys out there."

'SATC 2' star accepts Razzie award

When the cast of “Sex and the City 2” won the 2010 Razzie for Worst Screen Ensemble, no one jumped up to accept the award à la Sandra Bullock or Halle Berry in years past.

But more than two weeks later, one of the film’s stars is publicly claiming the $4.97 statue.

“He said that he had never won an award of any kind and if this was what he won, he would accept it,” Razzie founder John Wilson remembers with a laugh.

‘Top Chef’: I can’t believe it’s not pasta!

Resolving the question I had at the end of last week, this is not the finale. (Although someone does get eliminated, so if you don’t want to know what happened, stop reading now.)

The four remaining contestants pair off for the Quickfire challenge, which is to make 100 identical plates of food in one hour.

Antonia and Tiffany make a beef salad, and talk up the difficulty of plating multiple components in a consistent manner. Mike and Richard make pasta from scratch, and talk up the difficulty of trying to do that in the short timeframe. They also take more than a few digs at Antonia and Tiffany's dish for being too simple.
