Mel Gibson is a granddad

Embattled actor Mel Gibson recently received some good news: he's become a grandfather again.

Gibson's daughter Hannah, who is married to blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, delivered a son over the weekend. Shepherd's rep confirms to CNN, "Hannah and Kenny did indeed have a baby boy Saturday night."

This is the third grandchild for Gibson, who is father to eight kids, including 1-year-old Lucia, his daughter with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

As CNN previously reported, the troubled star recently was sentenced to three years probation and a year-long anger management counseling program relating to a prior incident involving Grigorieva.
