Following his Oscars-hosting gig, James Franco already has another project lined up: The all-over actor is collaborating with rockers R.E.M.

The music group recently announced the Collapse Into Now Film Project, a selection of films personally curated by lead singer Michael Stipe that will accompany each song on R.E.M's upcoming "Collapse Into Now" album.

Franco will direct films for "That Someone Is You" and "Blue," and conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles are among the other directors participating in the project.

Julianne Hough hasn't been kicking up her heels since leaving "Dancing with the Stars." The busy beauty is making movies, and she just landed a leading role in the big-screen adaptation of the '80s-based Broadway musical "Rock of Ages."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hough—who appeared in "Burlesque" and will star in the upcoming "Footloose" remake—will play Sherrie, a small-town girl who moves to Hollywood with dreams of being an actress. She catches the eye of bad-boy rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) but rejects him before finding her true love at the end.

Director Adam Shankman says Hough was "nothing short of a miracle" during her audition, adding, "It was a star-is-born moment."

The singer touched the judges and fans alike with his story of sticking by the side of his fiancée, Juliana Ramos, who was involved in a traumatic car accident two months prior to their planned wedding.

As a recent guest on "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Medina was surprised by a $35,000 donation from Proactiv to help with Ramos' care.

And although reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson is rocking a short fringed number in her photo, the former girl "Next Door" says that she's planning to keep things demure.

"I can't look too sexy," Wilkinson told Us Weekly. "That's the key, you know. I'm already known as the Playboy girl, so I can't go out there and do that. I have to be ABC appropriate!"

According to Fast Company, searching “Jenni JWoww” is dangerous to your operating system.

An annual security report by Barracuda Labs found that the “Jersey Shore” reality star was the No. 2 search term leading to malware infections.

Apparently fans of Ms. Woww are willing to install a few browser add-ons in order to add her to their photo collections. Also falling victim are those searching for “NFL,” “music video,” “Costco” and “Abbey Road.”

Our advice? Use protection.

TMZ has obtained a recording of a Valentine's Day phone call Abdul made to 911 in which she appears to be having a spat with her boyfriend as they drive along a Santa Barbara freeway.

"I want out of this car and he won't let me!" a frantic, crying Abdul tells the operator, before saying to her beau, "Are you gonna drop me off? Are you gonna drop me off, 'cause I have emergency on the phone!" The "Live to Dance" host ultimately tells the operator she is indeed being dropped off.

New "Wonder Woman" star Adrianne Palicki has already made an enemy: Elizabeth Hurley is set to appear in the upcoming David E. Kelley series as the Amazing Amazon's archnemesis Veronica Cale.

"Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman,” Hurley tweeted yesterday. “I’ll be playing the evil villain. Can’t wait.”

According to Deadline.com, Hurley's villainess is a "beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy."

One person not cheering recent Oscar winner Natalie Portman? Mike Huckabee.

The Fox News Channel host has criticized the "Black Swan" star for being pregnant and unmarried.

"One of the things that's troubling is that people see a Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet who boasts of, 'Hey look, you know, we're having children, we're not married, but we're having these children,' and they're doing just fine,'" Huckabee told radio host Michael Medved on Monday. "But there aren't really a lot of single moms out there who are making millions of dollars every year for being in a movie."

I think it’s safe to say Sammi is winning her breakup with Ron. How does one win a breakup, you ask? By not following the other party around like a sad puppy dog, for starters.

With the exception of Ron, everyone seemed genuinely excited to welcome Sammi back. Especially Deena, who said she was just “histatic” about it. For those of you who don’t speak “Shore,” “histatic” is when you’re, “like, really happy.” Kind of like ecstatic, but different.

Another way to win a breakup is to have a better manicure and darker fake tan than your ex does.
