After much anticipation, Sunday night finally saw the premiere of "The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business." The cast is filled with fan favorites who all have something to prove after making mistakes in seasons past which got them eliminated from the race.
Yes, the Goths (a.k.a. the Pink and Black Attack) Kynt and Vyxsin were back, along with the Globetrotters Flight Time and Big Easy; "School of Rock" screenwriter Mike and his dad Mel; and oh my gravy, the most memorable of all, cowboys Jet and Cord (plus, of course, some others).
The race started right away with the first challenge: teams had to search through a Los Angeles field for paper airplanes bearing the name of the airline which would take them to their next destination (which they had to guess).
Mel and Mike were the first to correctly guess "Qantas" and went along with the first group of teams on the first flight, but as "Amazing Race" has shown over the years, anything can happen. A man had a heart attack on board, and the first flight was delayed in Honolulu, giving the second group of teams a head start.
Nevertheless, all teams arrived in Sydney, Australia pretty much neck-and-neck, and had to go diving with sharks in an aquarium in order to get a compass so they could all decode something on a set of flags (you kinda had to be there).
First, former NFL cheerleaders Cara and Jaime helped out their previous alliance, mother and son Margie and Luke, with decoding. Then, Zev and Justin, wearing "Flight Time" and "Big Easy" shirts, helped out the Globetrotters, to the point where they didn't even have to do any decoding.
Suddenly, just about everyone was helping out everyone else, and every team but Jet and Cord had breezed through a sailing challenge (and another of my favorite teams, Gary and pint-size bundle of energy Mallory, came in first at the pit stop, before being told that they had to keep racing).
The cowboys may have already met with their kryptonite, as we were left with Cord still mulling over the code while the other teams moved on to the next leg of the race.
Say it ain't so, guys! For a team that came in second a couple seasons ago, it would be a shame to see them out this early. Here's hoping they're able to make up for lost time next week.
Are you excited to see so many favorites back in the race? Which team are you pulling for? Share your view on iReport or comment below.
First of all, these cowboys are definitely not GAY and anyone who has any sense can see that. The gay related comments posted are disgusting and repulsive. Have a little respect for yourselves and most importantly these guys!!!!!!
Also to the idiots ZEV & JUSTIN.....I heard one of you make a comment that the other was artistic and AUTISTIC. Well you must not know much about autism. I have a 12 year old nephew who has autism and he is a beautiful and very smart child. I do not appreciate that comment as if it were something bad. It is a very sad disease and not only affects the child but everyone around them. So you can take you stupid comment and shove it!!!!! I do not think you guys deserve to win The Amazing Race. Stay home and read up on autism and maybe you will learn when to keep your comments to yourself.
While they runnin I wish their pants would fall down and they run over to me. I pull down their underpants and suck out all the HOT GOOBER GRAVY...oh gosh...Im about to pass out. I feel faint. Help me you big strong cowboys mens...nurse me to health with some big D!CK.
MMmmmm Yum...Hot ManGravy filled cowboys gone bend me over and ride my rump all the way into town...Pump me full of hot ManGravy!!
Let's hope that the cowboys coming in last at the "keep racing" pitstop won't mean they don't get to keep going. Love these guys.
YUMMY I WANT SOME OF THEM COWBOYS GRAVY. THEY LOOK LIKE THEY COULD MASH MY POTATOES 2 AT A TIME. ITS WOULD BE LIKE THANKSGIVING FOR GAYS.
Great post. If the cowboys are gone, I can't watch the rest. I secretly wondered if the producers extended the first race so that they can catch up. Oh, I hope so. I can bear not to hear, "oh, my gravy!" I'm serious by the way.
They ran such a clean race last time, and I hope they win.
Go Cowboys.... they are just so lovable....much better than the 'cheerleaders'
