'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: 'Idol's' wacky contestantsFirst, let me say that I love, love, love “American Idol”! I think Steven Tyler and J.Lo are great on the show. But that said, I most enjoy seeing the TALENTED competitors. The wackiness on “Idol” is getting a little out of control! Those who are obviously just put in front of the judges for shock value make me uncomfortable, especially if it seems some of those contestants are, well, a few fries short of a Happy Meal, so to speak. When it seems contestants are being taken advantage of and made fun of just for entertainment, I don’t like it. What do you think? It’s our "Showbiz" Flashpoint: Love ‘em or lose ‘em when it comes to “Idol’s" wacky contestants?
Other big stories we’re talking about today on "Showbiz Tonight": How Kim Kardashian is now in the middle of Halle Berry’s nasty custody battle, and the cost of Charlie Sheen: What Charlie’s out of control behavior could cost “Two and a Half Men." Without Simon and Paula I just cant watch it anymore. Do miss it though.
Time for Idol to lay off the clinically weird. Seriously, some of the 'weirdest' contestants are just doing what comes naturally because they have Asberger's syndrome, a high functioning form of autism. Our family stopped watching the auditions because we do not agree with Idol's lack of sensitivity when they find ALL forms of individual differences "entertaining." Would they find it funny if that contestant was their brother or son?
There have always been wacky contestants in the preliminary rounds. And "bleeps".
I LOVE IT!! I think they show enough of the talent and the wacky...it's GREAT! I had stopped watching Idol, I'm enjoying it now...we will see the real talent for the rest of shows to come.
Love idol. Happy with the judges. Very disappointed with all of the "bleeps" on what is for some a family show.
Love'em I think the wacky ones show up just to get the wacky exposure... Delusional yea but they leave with maybe a few cuss words for the judges and the gall to want to return next season. So I can't feel sorry for them if they know what the show is about and they show up. They are for entertainment and some of them know it!
