Being a MA native its so hard to decide between Jeremy Renner for the Town and Christian Bale for The Fighter...both amazing movies and amazing actors...However, I think my choice would be Jeremy Renner! Best of luck to him!
That fat kid up front thinks its a chocolate trophy. He is about to grab it and Haul A S S.
comon holywood.enough already.i'm so sick of given al the undeserved awards to the english playing an englishmen.duh. JEFF BRIDGES SHOULD HAVE WON THAT HANDS DOWN HE GAVE TWICE THE PREFORMAVNCE EVEN JOHN WAYNE DID WHEN HE PLAYED SAME ROLE AN WON.I MEAN WHO EVEN STAYED AWAKE THRU THE KINGS SPEECH LONG TO DETERMINEIT WORHTY AN OSCAR A FEW LINES BEFORE NODING OFF.AT LEAST YOU STAYE DAWAKE AND ENTERTAINED AlL THROUGH TRUE GRIT.JEF F'S ACTING WAS AWESOME.SO NATURAL SO BELIEVABLE U FORGOT IT REALLY WAS JUST JEFF . THATS WHY U HOLLYWOOD TYPE LIBERALS SHOULDNT VOTE LEAVE TO THE PEOPLES CHOICE AWARDS.CAUSE YOUR CHOICES for the acadmy every year are as bad as your politcal choices for president and state senators.youmay have talent but you sure cant regoonize it.
Helena, I saw The King's Speech tonight and I agree with you: a brilliant work about real history that had never been told. I especially loved the Queen's initiative and her love for him–great work by a great actress!
Betty White won for female actress in a comedy series? Give me a break!! So much for the credibility of the SAG.
mamiedamie...of course you wouldn't want to see a movie about a King who STUTTERS. It was about real history, WWII and most of all the acting – and these awards are about acting – which was brilliant and funny. I should warn you, as you seem to have a rather narrow perspective, stay away from Shakespeare, his stuff is historical too...and Patrick Stewart has a tendendancy to be involved in productions written by him.
ENOUGH with the media-generated "cult of Betty White." Do you entertainment reporters have ANY shame?
I am really tired of Betty White==enough already!!!
Sorry...Betty White = AWESOME!! More movies with her in them please. She steals the show every time. 90% of the actors today do not have the timing and wit of Betty White.
Betty White was the highlight of the whole show. She is adorable and jusr plain funny. Especially her strolking the statue. Priceless!
Why was Patrick Stewart nominated for "Hamlet" but not David Tennant? Not that Stewart was bad but Tennant was brilliant!
Oops, he was nominated for MacBeth, not Hamlet. Still, Tennant should have gotten a nom!
Did you see the best movies of 2010? Here you can find: moviesfan.eu/related-top-list/93-best-movies-of-2010
I know thAt shouLdA won too, don ya'll?
Why didnt Goesha win ? WhY? Or doleusHa have a chance too?
Or Angel win? Why?
Why didnt Mary Taysley win?
She dont love you, Ja. She not know you either.
Why she not win? She could have. Why?
The King's Speech was brilliant. Colin Firth deserved that SAG trophy. I thought Mila Kunis' role in Black Swan was not big enough to deserve a nod and doesn't she play that character every time she does a film? I love her, but that SAG nod was just weird, they could've given that spot to Julianne Moore.
The Kings Speech, should win the Oscar for Most Boring Ass Movie That No One Saw. 2 words for Natalie: Birth Control. -Art
To Vickie: What movie did you see this weekend?
About "The Town": Loved everything about it until the violence at the end which seemed just for its own sake and way too excessive. I walked out of the movie really disappointed because the prolonged violence reduced the overall impact of an otherwise excellent movie. Ben Affleck did a superb job with "Gone Baby Gone" so I expected something of that caliber. Love ya Ben! Love to hear about your next project.
I think they are all great actors n their movies n shows are awesome!!! So who cares about the awards!!! As long as we watch n buy the movies n shows we love, who cares!!! Threre’s always gonna b tht one movie or one actor or actress or show tht should have won!! But, hey, wht can ya do about it?!!
Bob Saget says curses! Snubbed again this year, have you people no love for Full House!
The king's speech sucks! The Fighter should have won.
Why wasn't The Town mentioned. I think Ben Affleck was suberb. . Who cares about a King who studders
Who's on the borard of the Oscars. I was glad to see Tina Fey lose. I have always hated her for making fun of Sarah Palin. I refuse to watch that show. I loved the Fighter and glad to see Melisso Leo win finally. I love Natalie Portman but I don't think I want to see the movie.
Palin deserved to be made fun of. She is not smart enough to have such a public role. She also likes to incite people against the other party when half the time, she has no idea what she's talking about. The fact that people support her or the Tea Party is a signal that the US has fallen significantly in their critical thinking and intelligence.
I agree, Sarah Palin deserves to be made fun. What's the big deal? SNL is all in good fun. Geez chill out.
Saw "Black Swan" at Telluride Film Fest and did not care for it. Nothing more than a B-grade horror movie. Amy Adams and Melissa Leo should both get awards for "The Fighter".
Who is Lois wilson? Love you Winona
Amy ADAMS is my pick
I think a pretty naked model lady should have won. pretty girls that are naked dont seem to get the respect they deserve.
i like funky little man john hawkes! misunderestimated character actor with a beautiful, real face. oh well.
So glad to hear betty white won she plays a great and funny character on hot in cleveland very funny show!!!!
Not sure who Mike's referring to but Janet Jackson's performance in Why Did I Get Married Too was outstanding. I haven't seen any of the movies nominated as yet though so can't comment on those. I think Ms Jackson is nominated for an Image Award for that performance.
The Fighter is a must see–Leo and Bale are incredible.
For anyone who lives or has lived in the gritty working class neighborhoods of Massachusetts you will think you have gone back home. Very real, superb film.
Kudos to Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams and the rest of the cast (esp the seven sisters who were scarily real).
I am not ysually a fan of "fight" movies but this is a story of a guy establishing his own place in the world without leaving his family (crazy as they are) behind.
Saw it this weekend ... AWESOME movie! Loved it!
YOU GO BETTY WHITE !
I've enjoyed Ms Betty over the years, but enough is enough. Can't they give some of those roles to Carol, Mary, or Cloris, to name a few of my favorite older actresses.
Mike which performance did you want nominated?
I think For Colored Girls was worthy of a nomination.
I agree...For Colored Girls should have received at least a nomination for the cast. It was really hard to pick out one performance for the other, but the cast overall was fantastic.
Where are the african american actors. Why did not one black actor or actress win. This is as sorry as it gets. Very disappointing. Another setback for black america. So sad.
Right...let's just give a black actor an award because he/she is black. Grow up!
But are any of them any good? What happened to merit and forget the Oprah effect of simply being black makes it a talent. Thats called racism honey!
WHERES LEO FOR BEST ACTOR?? AND WHERES THE TWO AND A HALF MEN ??? Ridiculous!
Two and a half Men...seriously?? It is THE most overated show on TV. It's only gets attention because they hope they will get to see the train wreck that is charlie sheen.
I deserve an award for watching all these awards shows! Does anyone care about a stuttering English king? No! There must be an intervention for award show addicts. Can't resist checking out the hair styles, dresses and lipstick shades. Help as I can't break the habit?
i'm pretty sure that taraji's movie where she played that mom trying to get her child back was a lifetime original movie and not made by hbo.
Dude! Everything you wrote was hilarious! Best laugh I've had all day! Loved the "blah blah blah!" LMAO
Why was taraji p henson was'nt nomanated for role in the hbo role of a mother who lost her child in korea she is a good actor
Clare Danes was superb in Temple Grandin. She deserved that award.
I 100% agree with you. That movie was so well done, and Claire was exceptional.
Did you see the size of Alec Baldwins cranium? It looks like a harbor bouy.
Jennifer Lawrence should have won. She was robbed by the Jewish occupancy.
@ american blah, blah, truth teller... .lay off the meat packing it's affecting your judgement.Really Mila Kunis worthy of an Oscar? Her best role is a cartoon voice over for The Family Guy... .
Glad Natalie won! She's hot!
So glad that betty white won.
Where Steve Buscemi as Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series?
I still want to know the name of the stunt man who did Steve Buscemi's last scene in "Fargo".
I feel really badly for Mila Kunis that she was nominated as best supporting actress for all of these lesser awards but not the Oscars.
Still I dont think her role in Black Swan was that much of a stretch as an actor.
Actually, MANY actors are far more honored to be nominated for the SAG awards than they are the Oscars, because the SAG awards are given based on what their accomplished peers think, not the overly bloated politically saturated nonense of the Oscars. So which is the lesser award?
Glad to see Natalie Portman win for Black Swan. Such a great role and movie for her.
I can't believe Jim Parson's wasn't nominated
I really hate that The Closer did not win. It is a great show, and I hate that is going to be ending soon.
I agree that Damages should have won. I have seen the series three times now and can't get over the twisted plot. I like how Colin Firth won in The King's Speech. I saw it the other day, and I recommend the movie to anyone.
me too, one of the best on tv. i can't believe she wants to leave the show. do you know why?
