Being a MA native its so hard to decide between Jeremy Renner for the Town and Christian Bale for The Fighter...both amazing movies and amazing actors...However, I think my choice would be Jeremy Renner! Best of luck to him!

Helena, I saw The King's Speech tonight and I agree with you: a brilliant work about real history that had never been told. I especially loved the Queen's initiative and her love for him–great work by a great actress!

Betty White won for female actress in a comedy series? Give me a break!! So much for the credibility of the SAG.

mamiedamie...of course you wouldn't want to see a movie about a King who STUTTERS. It was about real history, WWII and most of all the acting – and these awards are about acting – which was brilliant and funny. I should warn you, as you seem to have a rather narrow perspective, stay away from Shakespeare, his stuff is historical too...and Patrick Stewart has a tendendancy to be involved in productions written by him.

The King's Speech was brilliant. Colin Firth deserved that SAG trophy. I thought Mila Kunis' role in Black Swan was not big enough to deserve a nod and doesn't she play that character every time she does a film? I love her, but that SAG nod was just weird, they could've given that spot to Julianne Moore.

To Vickie: What movie did you see this weekend?

About "The Town": Loved everything about it until the violence at the end which seemed just for its own sake and way too excessive. I walked out of the movie really disappointed because the prolonged violence reduced the overall impact of an otherwise excellent movie. Ben Affleck did a superb job with "Gone Baby Gone" so I expected something of that caliber. Love ya Ben! Love to hear about your next project.

Why wasn't The Town mentioned. I think Ben Affleck was suberb. . Who cares about a King who studders
Who's on the borard of the Oscars. I was glad to see Tina Fey lose. I have always hated her for making fun of Sarah Palin. I refuse to watch that show. I loved the Fighter and glad to see Melisso Leo win finally. I love Natalie Portman but I don't think I want to see the movie.

Palin deserved to be made fun of. She is not smart enough to have such a public role. She also likes to incite people against the other party when half the time, she has no idea what she's talking about. The fact that people support her or the Tea Party is a signal that the US has fallen significantly in their critical thinking and intelligence.

Not sure who Mike's referring to but Janet Jackson's performance in Why Did I Get Married Too was outstanding. I haven't seen any of the movies nominated as yet though so can't comment on those. I think Ms Jackson is nominated for an Image Award for that performance.

The Fighter is a must see–Leo and Bale are incredible.

For anyone who lives or has lived in the gritty working class neighborhoods of Massachusetts you will think you have gone back home. Very real, superb film.

Kudos to Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams and the rest of the cast (esp the seven sisters who were scarily real).
I am not ysually a fan of "fight" movies but this is a story of a guy establishing his own place in the world without leaving his family (crazy as they are) behind.

Actually, MANY actors are far more honored to be nominated for the SAG awards than they are the Oscars, because the SAG awards are given based on what their accomplished peers think, not the overly bloated politically saturated nonense of the Oscars. So which is the lesser award?
