Demi Moore talks film, romance and...more kids?

Demi Moore is one of the most talked about stars at Sundance. She has two movies here, the Wall Street thriller "Margin Call" with Kevin Spacey and the dysfunctional family drama "Another Happy Day" co-starring Ellen Barkin and Kate Bosworth.

I sat down with 48-year old Demi to talk film, family, romance, and - as she nears 50 - whether she wants more kids.

  • This is Demi's first time promoting films at Sundance so she said this year's festival is particularly exciting for her.
  • Demi wasn't the original actress cast in her role in "Margin Call." Her friend Carla Gugino had to back out of the part due to scheduling conflicts and recommended Demi take her place.
  • Demi talked lovingly about husband Ashton Kutcher and said he is a wonderful man. She says their secret to keeping the romance alive is to work on their marriage all the time, not just during challenging times.
  • Demi's dream jobs if she weren't an actress? Forensics, psychology or something in the midwifery field. Demi delivered all three of her daughters naturally (no pain medication), and she has assisted other births.
  • Demi eats a healthy, clean diet but nothing extreme... "lots of green vegetables."
  • She doesn't rule out having more children, and says she's open to it.

It's ok for Demi to tweet pictures of herself in a bikini and discuss her diet, but not ok when she gets called out for misleading folks into believing her bikini-body is due to diet rather than plastic surgery? I'm sorry, but I'm sick of these "stars" complaining about a lack of privacy when they're the ones who choose to make every sandwhich they eat and every lover they take the subject of a press release.

Lol..always one or two a$$ho1e$ on these things. If the woman wants to get cosmetic surgery, marry a much younger man then that's her business. @Golden State Girl, you must be an ugly fat moose that won't even turn the head of a 93 yr old man.

Public harassment is more like it. And I follow the idea and understand how wrong it is. And its still no ones business what if any cosmetic work she's had done.

I think you clearly don't follow the idea. If you are a high profile person, wether it be the President of the USA, a foreign dignitary, actor/actress, or Justin Bieber then anything you do in public is under public scrutiny. Anything you do in your own home or anysuch place that is truly private is no one elses business. But when you are in public domain nothing you can do can change how anyone else notices or speaks about your doings. The same applies to every poster on this forum, just no one here is famous enough for anyone to care. The original complaint was about her life shouldn't be an open book – if you agree with that post and feel her life is as such, it is only because she has allowed it to be that way. Many other celebrities have no such problem.

You clearly did not read everything or have comprehension difficulties. One post clearly states if "you chose to be on camera then nothing is private". Another posted a similar remark. This is a denial of privacy. Everyone has a right to privacy, but a few posts here say celebrities don't.

  13. What?

The only "Right" anyone has posted is the right to privacy, which no one has denied. So clearly you don't read well either. The plastic surgery allegation was posted by Golden State Girl, and referenced several times, becoming part of the discussion. Please don't revert to name calling to try and bolster your comment as being more valid than anyone elses.

  14. to what

Evidently you did not read all the posts. The only idiots here are the nosy folks that think they have "the right to know" every detail of someone else's life. Nothing about cosmetic surgery was in the article. A nosy idiot decided to comment about it anyway. Sounds like a middle school plastic.

Wow... no one denied the right to privacy. However I think the addage "never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience" might apply here.

Celebrities should be able to go to public places without giving an explanation of why they were there. You are clearly stalker material with no life of your own.

    January 30, 2011 at 8:22 pm | Report abuse |
  21. What?

@Doug – Using the comment "You have the right to your opinion no matter how wrong it is" basically means you think they shouldn't have an opinion differing from yours, period. Terrible way to make a point.

@ Aaron – I didn't see anyone expressly say celebrities don't have the RIGHT to privacy. Just that you can't expect to have privacy if you visit a Public face reconstructive practice, or a Public grocery store, or a Public shopping mall and then expect everyone to act like you aren't there, and not have the right to tell anyone else about your presence or what you did there. Similar to having a cell phone conversation in a crowded elevator and asking everyone else to stay out of your private phone conversation.

One doesn't need to know every detail of a celebrity's life to follow the career of said celebrity. It's not your right to know.

If Demi Moore wanted you to know what if any cosmetic surgery she's had she would. She would announce it in an interview. Until then MYOB.

You people crack me up. I'm with Julie. If Demi should want to make something public or keep something private on her own terms that is her right. All the stars should have that right. Just because the are entertainers doesn't mean they should lose the right to privacy. When they walk off the set or off the stage they should be left alone.

Being in the entertainment industry doesn't give John Q Public the right to every detail of ones life. Julie has a right to her opinion. You have a right to your opinion no matter how wrong it is. Obviously Julie has personal experience with you vultures. I agree that the stars have a right to privacy.

Julie: congrats on a 33 year marriage. That's almost unheard of these days.

What are you looking for here Julie? Someone to agree with you? Some kind of affirmation that everyone who has an interest in public knowledge is wrong in some way? Are you saying that if you choose a lifestyle that is in the public view and the public follows you that the public should be scorned in some way? Sounds like the only person in the wrong would be the one that put themselves into the postion to begin with.

DT is right. If you think that they are allotted some privacy, it's only what they can keep out of our reach. It's just like the internet, if you put it out there, you can't get it back. It's there for all to see.

Demi: when the question was asked how do you continue to look so great, please be HONEST next time and reveal that in 2010, you spent $150,000 on cosmetic surgery. It's perfectly fine and why not if services are available to women with financial means, but it is deceitful to your fans that you claim to be natuarally ageless. NOT!

To your credit, at your age you are far more beautiful than both of your daughters! I predict self-esteem issues ahead for them ....especially the older one "Rumor" who tries way too hard.
