Just when I thought “The Big Bang Theory” couldn’t get any better.
Our lovable gang of geeks got up and out of Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment for a road trip, and it was one of the funniest episodes ever. All of the guys and gals were off to the Science and Society Convention including Penny, who was along because a spa weekend was part of the package – and because Amy Farrah Fowler has decreed that they are besties.
In one car we had Howard, Bernadette and the “ever-silent-whenever-a-girl-is-present-unless-there-is-alcohol-involved” Raj.
Howard kept expressing how he couldn’t wait to get to the resort so he and Bernadette could “nap.” There was a major moment of hilarity when Leonard called from the other car – containing him, Sheldon and Penny – to tell Bernadette that Raj had texted him to let her know that when Howard said “nap,” he meant sex.
Did you catch all of that?
Meanwhile, Penny decided to finally stand up to Sheldon’s bullying ways for once, which resulted in her getting kicked out of the car and having to join the Bernadette/Howard/Raj caravan.
Once they all arrived at their destination, Howard met Bernadette’s ex, played deliciously by former L.A. Laker and “Dancing With the Stars” contestant, Rick Fox. After meeting all 6 feet 6 inches of him, Howard worried that he wouldn’t quite...measure up in the romance department, and he and Bernie ended up having a fight.
What followed was an amusing game of musical beds in the hotel as Bernie went to bunk with Amy and Penny. Penny then moved over to Sheldon and Leonard’s room, and Sheldon – worried that Penny and Leonard might engage in coitus while he was sleeping – headed over to Raj’s room before kicking Raj out, resulting in Raj interrupting coitus between Penny and Leonard.
I was laughing uncontrollably, even as my head spun trying to keep up with it all.
By the time they all convened on their panel (with Penny in the audience) just about everyone was ticked off. Bernadette and Howard got into it in a scene which reminded me so much of when that guy mortified his ex-girlfriend during a panel televised on C-Span.
This show consistently makes me howl with laughter and this was one of the best episodes the entire season. Don’t you agree?
