Chaz Bono will get the Rosie O'Donnell treatment following his OWN documentary.
Oprah's network announced on Thursday that O'Donnell will host a one-hour special following the world television premiere of “Becoming Chaz” in May. The special will feature Chaz Bono, his girlfriend Jennifer Elia and filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, who will discuss the film.
“Becoming Chaz” will be the first documentary film to air as part of the OWN Documentary Film Club, and the network said O'Donnell "will be a collaborator for the OWN Documentary Film Club, selecting key films and hosting specials that inspire deeper conversations following their on-air premiere."
“We are thrilled to have Rosie be a part of the OWN Documentary Film Club,” said Lisa Erspamer, chief creative officer for OWN. “She has a great enthusiasm and sensibility for documentaries, and is the perfect choice to host the specials.”
The duties will be in addition to the already planned new talk show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," set to air on OWN this year.
“I love watching every documentary," O'Donnell said in a press release. "It excites me to know that OWN is as passionate about documentary films and storytelling as I am."
