Those Gervais jokes? You should be used to them

[Want to hear more from Ricky Gervais? You can catch him on "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Thursday, January 20 at 9 p.m. ET.]

If Ricky Gervais was secretly aiming to dominate the general conversation for hours after hosting the Golden Globes, then we have one thing to say: Well done, Mr. Gervais.

Although, maybe he really didn’t expect all of the shock and awe and “did you hear what he said about ‘The Tourist’/Scientology/Robert Downey Jr./Bruce Willis?!” reaction to his 2011 Globes jokes – it’s not like he’s never said the same type of thing before.

Exhibit A: His hosting job at last year’s Golden Globes. Gervais aimed and fired at Mel Gibson – “I like a drink as much as the next man, unless the next man is Mel Gibson” – as well as Sir Paul McCartney.

This is what happens when Pee-Wee and Andy Samberg drink

If Anderson Cooper looks a little shaken up on “AC:360” tonight, you’ll have to understand: the host has had a hell of a weekend.

Saturday’s “SNL” digital short featured a liquor-soaked version of “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure,” with "SNL's" Andy Samberg bumping into Pee-Wee Herman at a bar.

This meeting led to round after round of shots, which not only brought out some very Pee-Wee-esque dance moves on top of the bar, but also caused what we can only describe as hilarious misadventures.

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Gervais, Douglas and Brangelina's date night

Did Ricky Gervais’ jokes at The Golden Globes go too far?!

I was right there on the red carpet of The Golden Globes, and Angelina Jolie told me she was such a fan of Ricky Gervais’ work that she was looking forward to seeing him host the awards show.

That said, Gervais did poke fun at Angelina’s movie “The Tourist,” so I'm wondering what she thinks of him after he cracked that joke! She has a good sense of humor, so she probably laughed right along!

Lea Michele apologizes for 'True Grit' star snub

She may be tough as nails in "True Grit," but Hailee Steinfeld admits she was brought to tears by Lea Michele after the "Glee" star snubbed her.

"I was auditioning for 'True Grit,' [and] I was on the Paramount lot. I was wearing clothes from the 1800s that were big and uncomfortable," 14-year-old Steinfeld recalled to J-14. Suddenly she spotted Michele, who shoots "Glee" on the lot, heading to her trailer.

"I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by and a guy came and said, 'Sorry, now's not a good time!'" says Steinfeld. "I was practically crying on the way home."

Aretha Franklin clears up cancer rumors

Just one week after saying she wasn't "going to even deal with" rumors that she was suffering from pancreatic cancer, Aretha Franklin is finally speaking out.

“I don’t know where ‘pancreatic cancer’ came from," the Queen of Soul tells "Access Hollywood." “I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that. No one in my family ever said that to anybody.”

Elijah Wood excited for 'Hobbit' reunion

"Lord of the Rings" fans aren't the only ones geeking out over the news that several cast members have signed on to do the two-part "The Hobbit" saga.

Frodo Baggins himself tells the Hollywood Reporter he can't wait to reunite with his co-stars.

"[Ian] McKellen is back, Cate Blanchett is back, Andy Serkis, and Orlando [Bloom] — it's going to be like going back in time," says Elijah Wood, who will reportedly appear at the beginning of both "Hobbit" movies, narrating from a memoir that his uncle Bilbo Baggins left behind.

Relationship issues on 'Real Housewives'

Can anyone tell me how many times Kim and NeNe have stopped being friends?

Honestly, these two are the quintessential definition of "frenemies," and we watched it blow up yet again on Sunday night's episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."

Things were already tense enough on the Kandi and Kim tour bus, what with Kim's constant complaints and requests to pull over every few miles for a smoke break. And Kandi's nerves were completely worn out with Kim and Sweetie's mouths.

Anthony Hopkins: Tequila nearly undid me

Anthony Hopkins battles the devil as a priest who specializes in exorcisms in "The Rite," but in real life, he's battled a different demon: alcohol.

"I drank anything I could back in the old days," Hopkins, 73, tells CNN. "Whatever I couldn't eat — whatever I couldn't chew — I [drank]."

The Oscar winner, who admits he was once quite the partygoer, says one drink in particular almost destroyed him. "Tequila was my hooch," he says. "That nearly undid me, drove me nuts, so I stopped."

Back to basics for 'Big Love'

It's hard to pinpoint what went wrong last season with "Big Love." Between the all-too-symbolic opening credits, the casino and Željko Ivanek's creepy pregnancy schemes, it just wasn't as good as we've seen in seasons past.

The show's return on Sunday night for its final season offered hope that things might be on their way to improvement. The premiere focused on the Hendricksons, and how Bill's decision to publicly reveal their secret just after being elected to state senate has affected them.

One of the kids was bullied at school, leading Nicki to (of course) confront the bully, something which came back to bite all of them at a school assembly.
