January 28 marks the third anniversary of Heath Ledger's death, and for Michelle Williams, it's still a huge loss, for herself as well as their 5-year-old daughter, Matilda.
"Very obviously, for me and for her, there's a hole in our life," Williams tells the February issue of Marie Claire. "Of course the natural inclination is to want to fill it and make it disappear, but what I've come to recently is that it's impossible. Nothing will fit in that hole because what we want back we can't get, which is this one person."
Though Williams has had other romances since Ledger unexpectedly died of a drug overdose, she is proceeding with caution.
"I'm not going to rush anything and scamper around like a mad person and make myself crazy. I'm trying to be respectful of the absence," she says. "I'm not trying to fill it up. It is what it is."
Williams's mother, however, wants her to meet someone, and thinks 30-year-old "Blue Valentine" co-star Ryan Gosling — to whom Williams had been romantically linked in the tabloids — would make the perfect partner.
"I think she wanted to believe the Ryan Gosling rumor more than anybody," Williams says. Still, the 30-year-old former "Dawson's Creek" star tells Marie Claire she isn't quite sure that Mr. Right exists.
"The idea that you can get everything you want in one person is destructive, and maybe when you accept that the number is closer to 50 or 60 or 70 percent, that's when you can start to make some progress in choosing the right person," she says.
"I don't want to make a mistake that big, and that saddens me, because it's harder to let yourself go. I can inflict any kind of injury on myself, but with my daughter, that's not an option."
Heath Ledger died on January 22, 2008. Your article is so blatanly disrepectful to Heath Ledger and his Family. It is not factual, concise or discretionary, to say the least. Oh and that may be: Mr. Ledger to you, most certainly.
He is still so missed by very many, RIP.
@ least the word "accidental" over dose isn't used here. try to find a clean guy for ur daughter honey. u knew heath was a junkie.
I got to admit she is beautiful.
You are the apple of eye ...
Take care Michelle
Really? Name-dropping and riding the publicity horse of her baby daddy's death is classy? They didn't date for very long and they were in the middle of a custody battle when he died. She hasn't done anything of value in years. Getting your name in the paper by using your daughter's loss of a father as a vehicle is pathetic. I have less respect for her now than I did before. There's a c word I can think of that describes this chick, and it isn't classy.
She was a class act before Heath, and will continue to be.
You could learn a lot from her.
She is truly a class act...I hope she finds someone...
Come on, guys! He passed away on January 22nd...I should remember; it's my birthday.
All you had to do was Google it.
Yeah...I'm a big heath fan, and Jan 28 is the wrong date. She's an incredible mother for focusing on her daugther. Not seen very often in the business.
January 28? No.
Heath die at January 22.
you are obviously jealous of hollywood and stuff
she's a cool chick. Heath is dearly missed. He was an incredible actor.
I tried hard to give a cr@p after reading this, but I couldn't get myself to do it.
Not many Mr. or Mrs. Rights in Hollywood.
