Look's like this New Year's Eve, Snooki won't be having a ball.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, plans to have the "Jersey Shore" star drop out of a ball in Times Square for New York City's biggest holiday celebration have had to be scrapped. A statement obtained by THR said the request to have the petite star pull the stunt "came too late and was too impractical to fit in to our outdoor events," co-producers of the Times Square New Year's Eve event said.
The idea was the brainchild of MTV, which had made it clear that the ball used would not have been "the actual New Year's ball in Times Square" made famous over the years, but rather a separate one.
3:00 p.m. UPDATE – MTV has confirmed that the Snooki ball drop will now occur in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
“We love our Times Square home and while we're disappointed there won't be a Snooki ball drop there, she cannot be denied," said an MTV statement. " So we're taking a road trip to the place where it all began, Seaside Heights, and droppin' it all there."
The event will be part of the network's "New Year's Bash 2011."
The folks at "Glee" may have hit a sour note with Lindsay Lohan after calling her crazy and joking about her numerous rehab stints, but Matthew Morrison, for one, isn't planning to make nice anytime soon.
"You know, when it comes to 'Glee,' I think everyone is fair game," the 32-year-old actor tells "Access Hollywood." "We poke fun at ourselves all the time. I don't think anyone really gets away from the 'Glee' scathing… Sorry, Lindsay!"
The offending episode, which aired in November, featured Gwyneth Paltrow as a substitute Spanish teacher who incorporated 24-year-old Lohan's mental state and rehab stays into her lesson plan.
She's baaack! Two years after the release of her CD "Circus," Britney Spears is returning to the music scene with "Hold It Against Me," a new single set to debut next week.
"It's produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin," Z100 New York program director Sharon Dastur tells Entertainment Weekly of the song. "And the beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists - this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7."
Swedish producer Shellback also worked with Spears on the new CD, which is scheduled to drop in March.
