Lil Wayne gives wheelchair to fan's motherHow’s this for spreading holiday cheer: Lil Wayne, now a free man himself after his release from prison in early November, has helped someone else get out of confinement. The 28-year-old rapper, who served eight months in New York's Riker’s Island on a weapons charge, has bestowed the mother of fan Ronda Austin with a wheelchair. He writes on his website, WeezyThanxYou.com, that he came to know Ronda through a series of letters she sent him while he was serving his sentence. Julianne Hough not too hot for CMTJulianne Hough may be a bit too...well, naked, for some people's liking in her latest music video, "Is That So Wrong," but CMT isn't complaining. At least not about that. The "Dancing with the Stars" favorite told fans at a Christmas concert last week that CMT banned her video due to its steamy content. "Apparently I was taking off too many clothes as I was dancing across my bedroom. But I don't know ... I kind of liked it," Hough said. 'The Tourist' as a comedy? The director thinks soFor a movie that's billed as an action-filled drama, "The Tourist" has had people in stitches this week. First there was the noticeable laughter from the press when it was announced that "The Tourist" was nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for a best comedy or musical Golden Globe. Then one of the "Tourist's" own stars, Angelina Jolie, couldn't hold back laughter when she heard she'd been nominated for her performance in the film. The mom of six snagged a Globes nomination in the best actress in a comedy or musical category for her role, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, she said she laughed "because it's the first time that I've been in the comedic category, so it's new for me." Is there no justice on 'Big Bang Theory'?Full disclosure: I am a huge "Archie" comic book fan, which means I have something in common with Penny's on-again dude, Zack. He's that cute, lovable doofus who is so good at being... you know, cute and lovable. He's back in the picture – if only for the New Year's holiday – so Penny doesn't have to be alone. I have to say, I really like this kid. He is the perfect dizzy foil to our geniuses. When the guys make fun of him for being an idiot (mostly cause he's a bit of an idiot) he manages to come off as both sweet and hapless. Those are the characteristics which made me fall in love with Sheldon, Leonard and the gang in the first place. Donald Trump will get roasted on Comedy CentralHopefully Donald Trump (and that hair) can handle some heat –- the business mogul is about to get roasted. Comedy Central announced Thursday that Trump is next in line for a roast session, which will air on the network in the spring of 2011. Although they didn’t mention who will be doing the roasting, the network did say that the taping will happen on March 9, 2011, in New York, Comedy Central’s first taping in the Big Apple since 2005. Trump, meanwhile, said in the release that he’ll “show up to the roast because Comedy Central is paying me a lot of money,” although he added, “I’m confused as to how anybody could make fun of me.” We’re guessing he'll find out on March 9. 'Shakespeare in Love' to get a sequelCall us crazy, but “Shakespeare in Love” doesn’t really scream “movie franchise.” But then again, we’re not running The Weinstein Company or Miramax, the two studios that have launched into a partnership aiming to make a sequel to “Shakespeare in Love," among other films. According to a statement, the idea is to create follow-ups to “some of Miramax’s best-known properties," along with TV shows and home entertainment products. |
