Another bad flight for director Kevin Smith

He may be known for playing "Silent Bob" but director Kevin Smith has no problem airing his gripe with Virgin airlines.

In a blog post yesterday, Smith, calling himself the "Loudmouth of the Skies," sounded off about not being allowed to board his Virgin America flight despite arriving at the gate with plenty of time to spare.

"We pleaded with Manny (the unfriendly face of Virgin America JFK working the gate), pointing out the remaining time (there were still 8 minutes before scheduled departure), and pointing out that the jetway was still attached to the plane," Smith writes. "Flying as much as I do (usually up at the front of the plane), I know that the jetway only gets pulled back ONCE THE PLANE DOOR IS SECURELY CLOSED."

A 'Teenage Dream' come true

It was a "Teenage Dream" come true for fans of both Katy Perry and "Glee" at the December 5 Trevor Project Live event at the Palladium in Hollywood.

Accompanied by the Fox show's Dalton Academy Warblers, actor Darren Criss, who plays openly gay student Blaine, performed Perry's "Teenage Dream" – the same song he performed on "Glee" and took to the top of the Billboard charts. Toward the end of the tune, Perry - who included the single on her "Teenage Dream" album this year – joined Criss on stage to sing a few lyrics from her hit.

But Perry, 26, and Criss weren't the only ones who did a duet at the event hosted by the Trevor Project, a suicide prevention hotline for gay youth.

Kathy Griffin booed for Bristol Palin joke

After defending her mother to Margaret Cho, Bristol Palin now has fighting words for Kathy Griffin.

While hosting the December 3 VH1 "Divas Salute the Troops" concert, the 50-year-old comedian took a jab at Palin, saying that the former "Dancing With the Stars" competitor "is the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight ... She gained, like, 30 pounds a week. I swear to God, it was fantastic. She's like the white Precious."

The crowd booed Griffin - and clearly, they weren't the only ones who failed to find the humor in her wisecracks.

New Kandi Burruss song pays tribute to her late fiance

It’s been more than a year since the fiancé of Kandi Burruss died, but her new single pays homage to their love.

“Haven’t Luvd Right” tells the story of a longing for a past love and, Burruss said on video posted on her official site, that the song took on special meaning after the death of Ashley “A.J.” Jewell.

“That is a meaningful song, it’s very emotional,” Burruss said. “When I recorded it, I feel like you can hear the emotion."

'Blue Valentine' actors unhappy with NC-17 rating

That NC-17 rating has "Blue Valentine" stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams seeing red.

The drama, which tells the story of a young couple whose marriage is falling apart, received the racy rating because of its intimate sex scenes, meaning both marketing and ticket sales could be affected.

"It's an inappropriate rating," an outraged Gosling, 30, tells CNN, adding that violent movies rarely get slapped with an NC-17. "I mean, you go see films and the guys are getting their arms and their legs cut off and that's an R rating, but ... if it's in the direction of a woman receiving pleasure, you know, and she's complicit in a sexual act, it's pornographic."

Sour stomachs and bad blades on 'Skating with the Stars'

This week's edition of "Skating with the Stars" began with a medical update from co-hosts Vernon Kay and Tanith Belbin.  Brandon Mychal Smith was in the hospital with an apparent case of food poisoning (complete with censored footage later in the show of Brandon losing his lunch), while pro skater Brooke Castile just returned from having stitches put in her hand due to it being run over by Jonny Moseley's skate.  Brooke is ready to skate, but is Brandon?

Rebecca Budig is our first skater, and she also spent time in the hospital after falling on her wrist during a practice skate.  Vernon said the doctors advised her not to skate, but he laughs at that idea.  Who needs doctors when there's a bad TV talent show to win?  Rebecca gave it her all in a routine that won her praise from Johnny Weir, who came to judge dressed like he fronts a Prince tribute band in his spare time.

Rebecca earned 50 points, as well as compliment from Tanith that she "set the bar high."  On this show, it doesn't take much.

Katie Couric is a Gleek

So Katie Couric thinks she can dance? Apparently so! The "CBS Evening News" anchor is set to show off some fancy footwork while warbling a tune during her upcoming guest spot on "Glee."

As Marquee previously reported, the 53-year-old former cheerleader will appear on the February 6 post-Super Bowl XLV episode of the hit Fox series and is expected to share scenes with acerbic Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester.

"She's a Gleek! She has been since the beginning," Jane Lynch, who plays Coach Sue, tells "Access Hollywood" of Couric. “I haven’t shot with her yet, but yeah, she’s going to be in our Super Bowl episode.”

'American Psycho: The Musical' promises a bloody good time

A new Broadway production is hoping to make a killing at the box office.

"American Psycho: The Musical," based on the 1991 Bret Easton Ellis novel featuring Wall Street banker/murderer Patrick Bateman, is headed to the Great White Way and promises to be a bloody good time.

"There are murders, and they are on stage in full view of the audience," playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tells the New York Post. "An ax and a chef's knife will be used. I think there's going to be a lot of blood."

Ryan vs. Johnny: Who's sexier?

He may have held the title of People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive twice before, but being replaced by Ryan Reynolds has left Johnny Depp stinging.

"I feel emasculated," the star of "The Tourist" jokes to MTV News. "I feel I've been beaten down like some horrible ... you know, like some pathetic harp seal. But, I mean, that's how it goes, isn't it?"

Not that Depp has any reason to complain. The boyishly handsome 47-year-old, who has two children with partner Vanessa Paradis, had the distinction of being named People's Sexiest Man Alive in both 2003 and 2009 before Reynolds took over the honors this year.'
