Lil' Kim is giving women emcees a bad rap, says hip-hop sensation Nicki Minaj.
In a new interview with the New York Times's T magazine, Minaj says Lil' Kim should stop dissing her and their fellow female artists and show them some love.
"The thing that I want to promote is that if you see someone doing their thing, give them their props," says 25-year-old Minaj, whose ongoing feud with the Queen Bee has intensified in recent weeks.
On "Roman's Revenge" from Minaj's just-released album, "Pink Friday" – which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard charts – she reportedly refers to Kim as a "has been." Meanwhile, Kim spat back on the song "Simon Says," telling Minaj, "I hate you Lil' Kim clone/clown."
But Minaj tells T magazine she wishes 36-year-old Kim would embrace up-and-coming talent instead of trying to break them down.
"We all have it hard and face the same challenges as female emcees," she says. "Show some mutual love and respect for each other so that it doesn’t get nasty. And she can be a nasty character."
