'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: What message does 'Bridalplasty' send?

Hey, it's AJ! You know, we thought we'd seen it all when it comes to outrageous reality shows. But let me tell you, at our morning meeting, all we could talk about was E!'s "Bridalplasty" - where brides-to-be compete for cosmetic surgery!

What kind of message does this show send? That's something I plan to ask the host of the show, ex-Miss USA Shanna Moakler, when I talk to her today. What do you think of “Bridalplasty”? Post your thoughts below…

And speaking of outrageous reality show shenanigans, we're also buzzing about the shocking finale of "America's Next Top Model."

Super-skinny Ann Ward, who stands at 6'2", was crowned the winner. This is the same Ann who, earlier in the season, bragged that she has the smallest waist in the world - and caused a big headache for “ANTM” host Tyra Banks, who got slammed for appearing to praise Ann's stick-thin frame in a promo for the show.

Other big stories we’ve got in the show today…

There's a shocking twist in the killing of a Hollywood publicist, and is Britney Spears really being abused by her new boyfriend?

And can you believe it’s been 30 years since Beatles great John Lennon was murdered? CNN "American Morning" host John Roberts is stopping by to chat about his new documentary, "Losing Lennon: Countdown to Murder."

See you on "Showbiz Tonight" at 5 p.m. ET and again at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN today!

Watch Showbiz Tonight Weekdays Exclusively at 11PM ET on HLN.

Dans le meme temps, l'action de Commander Viagra est base sur le meme principe que celui de ses predecesseurs.

oh my God! If you have teenage daughters please keep them away from such a sickening message. Get cut in pieces so your groom will like you? Why these girls have such a low self esteem? I am all for improvement of one's image but only if it's for yourself and in moderation. Who wants to become Heidi with 10 surgery in one day?:( Oh dear..everywhere is a 911 situation..
Please read/see our predictions on Jennifer Aniston? Thank you..

Yea, when I first saw a commercial for this show I was in total shock! I mean, has plastic surgery taken over our lives?? OMG I also read this blog post about this girl who's bf is pressuring her into getting breast implants. I mean come on now, what has this world come to!!! Please tell her not to do it: http://thesocialshrink.blogspot.com/2010/11/my-boyfriend-offered-to-pay-for-my-boob.html

It's sad that reality TV has come to this. Not only are they exploiting people who have deluded themselves into thinking they will be famous because of this show, but now it's exploitation, and sending a message to all of those young girls out there, who are already insecure about their looks that they have to look a certain way. There are ways to go about looking how you want to without surgery. I can understand wanting to better yourself, but look at these women. None of them are even remotely ugly. Heck, most could be models. But they still feel the need to get surgery to look "perfect" isn't beauty about our flaws along with our perfections?

the biggest part I don't understand is why in the world their soon to be husbands are alright with them doing this. While they don't need permission, the women on this show need to understand that there is a reason they are with their fiances to begin with. If they feel like they need to look differently for another person, they are with the wrong person.

Are you calling someone illiterate just b/c they spelled a few words wrong? This place is for people to express their opinions, not to get bullied and made fun of for them. Stop being jerks and post your opinion about the article leave others alone.

i think you all just want to complain...i think its a cool show..so woman are competeing for there altimate wedding all you are talking about is the plastic surgery side of the show...what about the reasons why these 12 woman want the surgery....what about them wanting a princess type fairytale wedding..all you sem to do is harsh on the plastic surgery ..i think its gonna be a great show...and think its gonna have many seasons to come...quit complaining about these woman and worry about yourselfs ...i look forward to seeing the outcome and transformation of these woman to beatiful swans...and cant wait to see who the altimant winner is of this show....so i give 2 thumbs up for a real realty show where woman can win something they desire .... its better than jerseyshore and survivor .....if other woman had the chance to appear and win surgery im sure they would jump at the chance to compete ...good luck woman of bridalplasty..cant wait for sundays new episode to air....

Funny you should mention swans since they've already done that show (and wasn't it canceled after one season?) Every one of those women (sorry, woman) came out looking the same...bad hair extensions, horse teeth, giant boobs and a perpetually surprised look on their face. It was the altimont of horrible!

What if they died during the surgery? That would certainly be the end of the fairytale wedding. And surgery can sometimes go wrong and leave the person worse looking than before (think Michael Jackson's nose).

  12. Observer

This show reinforces the typical Hollywood liberal message of hate, in this case self-hate. These ladies need therapy, and a lot of it.

So typical for the far left party of hate.

Blaming liberals for a TV show is kind of ignorant. Obviously people are watching the show and it's not liberals because I wouldn't waste my time on this trash. You need to learn to be more open-minded and listen to what other people say instead of pointing fingers and blaming.

i was just wondering if the grooms will want to marry someone that looks different than the person they fell in love with ? The more outrageous the show, the better the reviews..right?! isn't that the point ? In the meanwhile, if interested check out our latest celebrities predictions. Today our first Vblog with predictions on Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise:http://celebs911.com/video-blog/.

It proves that women who would do this are shallow, and that appearance really should not matter, as they will probably be divorced in two years (at most).

I feel worst fo rthe poor saps who are engaged to these shrill harpies.
