'30 Rock' actor's dad gets elected"30 Rock" star Jack McBrayer, who plays kooky Kenneth the Page, isn't the only celebrity in his family - his father has just been elected to Georgia's Rockdale County Board of Education. Jim McBrayer, who retired as a history teacher and athletic director at Salem High School last year, earned 3,137 votes in Tuesday’s runoff election, reports the Rockdale Citizen. The Macon native, who looks just like his famous son, had previously spent 22 years teaching at Rockdale County Public Schools.
“I didn’t know what to expect because there were so many factors - low voter turnout and the rain,” said McBrayer, who began teaching in 1971. “I know I wouldn’t have been able to win without the help of my friends and supporters.” McBrayer, whose wife, Betty, also retired from teaching at Salem High School last year, is expected to start board training immediately and will begin his four-year term in January. |
