Robert Wagner to voice Charlie on new 'Angels' seriesThe hit 1970s show "Charlie's Angels" is being reincarnated as a new series for ABC, and this time the sexy private eyes will be fighting crime in the Sunshine State. According to Deadline.com, the "Charlie's Angels" reboot will switch the action from its original Los Angeles setting to heavenly Miami. While Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson starred as the iconic show's first three undercover agents, no actresses are yet attached to the new pilot, which is set to shoot in January.
However, Showbiz411.com reports that at least one cast member is official: actor Robert Wagner, who will voice the role of Angels employer Charlie, the heard-but-not-seen owner of the Charles Townsend Agency. In real life, Wagner owned 50 percent of the original TV series. Drew Barrymore, who produced and starred in two hit "Charlie's Angels" movies, will also serve as a producer for the small-screen revamp. Which actresses do you think would make perfect Angels? |

I hope they cast serious talented actresses over 25. This could be a good show if they go in the direction of talented actresses and not bimbos with no talent which seems to be the norm today.
I personally thought both movies starring Drew Barrymore were awful, it would be nice to see a woman play Bosley like original star Kate Jackson, bringing some elements of the original series would attract a younger and older audience.
To have success with a old tv show being redone mixing the old and the new is the way to go.
I totally agree, Lisa. I grew up on Charlie's Angels. Personally, I think that Jaclyn Smith should have came back as the safe foundational liaison. After all, she was with the Townsend Detective Agency the longest! If this new series of Charlie's Angels is going to be a success, there are a few elements that the producers are going to have to incorporate: 1. Quit the "drama"! Who on God's green earth does acrobatic fighting in real life, falls from the sky and lands in a helicopter with an injured victim, or survives Demi Moore's poor driving?
2. They must bring back reality: The original angels kicked butt, solved crime, were gun slingers, and looked great doing it!
3. Last, but not least, IF this series ever brings about success, the producers must cast the right women to play these three female crime fighting sleuths! Personally, I think they should cast Spencer Margret Richmond (Daughter of Jaclyn Smith; aka Kelly Garrett) Jordan Ladd (Daughter of Cheryl Ladd; aka Kris Monroe) and another lady to play the role of Sabrina Duncan's daughter. Let it be made known in the series that these women are their mothers' prodigy! Have the original angels to show up occassionally!
I think it's so funny when people name MOVIE STARS like Scarlett Johanson and Kate Beckinsale as prospects for a TV show. They are MOVIE STARS! Why would they do a tv series. Be more realistic, people.
ps. Jennifer Love Hewitt ?????????? as the Farrah role???? She would be the worst possible candidate and has been on tv for way too long.
I like Amanda Seyfried, Kate Beckinsale, and Scarlett Johansson!
I'd actually prefer 3 complete unknowns. Why doe we always have to recycle established actors? Except for Farrah no one had ever heard of any of the actresses who played the Angels in the original series. Why not take the opportunity to launch the career of the next Farrah?
Farrah was unknown also. Kate Jackson was the only minor "star." The show made all three superstars, and Farrah became a cultural icon of the decade. They aren't dumb, this new show will not star anyone who is already really famous. It has to be 3 relatively unknown actresses who don't have big egos. That's how it worked first and how it will work in 2011.
Lady GaGa,Katy Perry & Taylor Swift
how about this:
Alyssa Milano (Kate Jackson)
Jennifer Love Hewitt (Farrah Fawett)
Jessica Alba (Jacklyn Smith)
This would be very good to watch...even as a new version of Babewatch....i mean Baywatch
Oprah, Roseann and Drew Carey
That is funny as hell..love it!! Can you imagine..well, maybe not!
Evangeline Lilly, Julianne Hough, and Tiffani Thiessen
Alyssa Milano; Emily Van Camp; Shannon Doherty
Nice choices, except for Doherty. She is a prima donna and would hold up production and cause chaos on the set. Angie Harmon (is she "too" old?)
