Fran Drescher teams with ex for TV Land sitcomFor Fran Drescher, divorce is, in fact, a laughing matter. That explains why she's turning her split from ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson into a TV Land sitcom. "Happily Divorced," a biographical comedy co-written and executive produced by Drescher and Jacobson, both 53, will tell the story of a woman who re-enters the dating world after learning that her former husband is gay, reports Deadline.com. It is not known whether Drescher will also star in the new series, which focuses on how the divorcee juggles the old and new man in her life. As Marquee previously reported, high school sweethearts Drescher and Jacobson – who co-created "The Nanny" – ended their 21-year marriage in 1999, and Jacobson came out to his ex-wife after they parted ways.
"We were just kids and didn't know who we truly were," Drescher, who currently hosts a Fox talk show, has explained. The couple have remained the best of friends since their breakup, and besides co-hosting events in support of gay rights, they've "even fixed each other up!" Drescher has said. "I more successfully than him, by the way." |

I'd love to see this sitcom- I'm hoping Fran herself stars in it! She's fabulous and looks great! It's nice to see her and her ex remained so close.
The nanny was such a great show. Fran and her ex husband make a great duo when it comes to acting/writing. I suspect the new show will be a great hit.
Most annoying woman in the history of entertainment. Followed closely by Rosie Perez.
What an awesome story! I think it's great that they're both so supportive of each other!
What a beautiful woman!....inside and out! I am happy to see her back on the airwaves.
