The NFL has scored a touchdown with their selection for this year's Super Bowl halftime entertainment: the Black Eyed Peas!
"They could have picked anybody," band member will.i.am tells Rolling Stone of the NFL's decision. "But it says something that they picked us."
The Black Eyed Peas are releasing a new album, "The Beginning," on Tuesday, November 30. Fans who buy the CD could have a chance to see the group's February 6 live performance at the Super Bowl XLV halftime show at Cowboys Stadium in North Texas.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Super Bowl gig is considered a coup for entertainers because it reaches an enormous audience. Last year, more than 153 million people tuned in to see The Who's halftime show.
