It’s safe to say that Brad Paisley’s going to get his payback… if his boys are anything like him.
In the interview, Paisley says his two sons, Huck, 3, and Jasper, 1, are very different people, as most siblings are.
"He's really similar to me in that he has a lot of the characteristics that I had as a kid," Brad says of Huck. "He's very focused, and he's the kind of kid that he's kind of quiet until he gets to know you, which is sort of me too."
Jasper is another story - Paisley tells The Bull he’s starting to think that Jasper is his favorite because they’re complete opposites. Perhaps Jasper is more like his mama, “Father of the Bride” star Kimberly Williams Paisley.
Both Billboard and Country Aircheck have “Anything Like Me” listed at the top of the charts right now.
While writing the song, Chris DuBois and Dave Turnbull reflected on the trouble they caused their parents and how they might have to deal with similar situations as fathers to rambunctious boys.
“Brad had just had a son, too, and Dave and I both felt he could be able to relate to it," DuBois told The Boot.
Paisley recorded the song before Jasper came along, but he says the tune is easy to connect to. And while he's a little bit scared about the upcoming years, he also hopes that his boys get to do most of the mischievous things he mentions in the song.
"I mean, 'end up every summer wearing something in a cast, probably throw a ball and break some glass,' who hasn't done that? ... All those things that I'm talking about that he does like 'probably stay out too late, drive his car too fast,' I kind of hope he does."
