There's a whole lot of drama going on at "Days of Our Lives," but it has nothing to do with plot lines and everything to do with plugging products.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the soap opera has recently been called out for promoting cereal, snacks and even Chinese food in what basically amounts to mini-commercials within each episode.
On one show, Melanie (Molly Burnett) is seen singing the praises of Cheerios. "It's not just for breakfast," she tells Nathan (Mark Hapka) of the cereal. "They have whole grains and only one gram of sugar, which is excellent for swimsuit season."
I was never much of a Gwyneth Paltrow fan.
Nothing against her as an actress - or, now, as a singer - but I was just “meh” where she was concerned. All of that changed Tuesday night.
Paltrow’s appearance on “Glee” was all I had hoped Britney Spears’s guest role was going to be: fun, electric and just downright cool. Having watched the clip online of Paltrow performing “Forget You” a few times (ok, it was more like 100 times), I was fully prepared for that to be the highlight of the show.
Hey, it’s Brooke! There is such shock today over Bristol making it to the “Dancing” finals! I’ve been rooting for her, but I have to say, I was stunned to see high scoring Brandy get the boot instead of Bristol.
So could Bristol actually win the whole thing? Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think it's possible! Tell me what you think by posting below.
There’s more stunning Palin drama today too: Bristol’s 16-year-old sister, Willow, is taking some major heat today for posting a homophobic slur on her Facebook page. The story is everywhere today, but is it fair to target Willow since she is just 16?
And since the news that Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged whipped people into a frenzy worldwide, I have to ask today: Is Kate ready to become the biggest star in the world? The excitement over their marriage could have us all saying, “Brangelina, who?”
See you on "Showbiz Tonight" at 5 p.m. ET and again at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN today!
A day after her reps denied reports that Eva Longoria had filed for divorce from Tony Parker in Texas, the actress set the wheels in motion in California to end her marriage.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed to CNN that the “Desperate Housewives” star filed a petition for divorce from her NBA player husband on Wednesday.
The pair married three years ago in a ceremony outside of Paris, and Longoria could often be found courtside cheering on her husband, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs. Over the summer, the pair celebrated their anniversary with an Adriatic cruise vacation.
A rep for the actress tells CNN that they are "not commenting at this time" on the split.
Brandy Norwood - and Jennifer Grey’s partner, Derek Hough, whose mouth literally hung open as the results were announced – weren’t the only ones caught off guard by her “Dancing With the Stars” exit – some fans are also wondering why Brandy’s leaving and not Bristol Palin. (According to TMZ, one guy even shot up his TV because he was so angry with Palin's performance on Monday.)
CNN iReporter Kathi Cordsen, who says she’s “extremely upset” with the results, adds that “All season long Bristol Palin was in last place from the judges except maybe one time. For the last six shows she has been in last place. She is a darling girl and her dancing has improved quite a bit but she has made it so other dancers have been voted out. Why? How?”
On Monday's show, Brandy's Argentine tango with partner Maks Chmerkovskiy garnered 57 points, while Bristol landed on the bottom with 53 points. Jimmy Kimmel, who had Brandy and Maks on his show last night, called it an "outrage."
You might want to mock Dollywood simply for being... well, Dollywood. But Tuesday, Dolly Parton's baby won the most prestigious award in the theme park industry, and Parton headed to Orlando, Florida, to accept the 2010 Applause Award in person.
"We are so honored to win this award," Parton said at the ceremony. "Our success over the last 25 years is because of the great team at Dollywood that I lovingly call my other family! All those folks back home cooking, cleaning, entertaining and landscaping –- I am proud of every one of them."
The Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, theme park features more than 40 rides and attractions that focus on country, bluegrass and other musical inspirations. The park is located on 150 acres near the Great Smokey Mountains.
The award presentation came on the same day that Parton announced plans for a new album on her website, DollyPartonMusic.net. Parton plans to release new music and begin a worldwide tour in the summer of 2011.
