Brandy Norwood - and Jennifer Grey’s partner, Derek Hough, whose mouth literally hung open as the results were announced – weren’t the only ones caught off guard by her “Dancing With the Stars” exit – some fans are also wondering why Brandy’s leaving and not Bristol Palin. (According to TMZ, one guy even shot up his TV because he was so angry with Palin's performance on Monday.)
CNN iReporter Kathi Cordsen, who says she’s “extremely upset” with the results, adds that “All season long Bristol Palin was in last place from the judges except maybe one time. For the last six shows she has been in last place. She is a darling girl and her dancing has improved quite a bit but she has made it so other dancers have been voted out. Why? How?”
On Monday's show, Brandy's Argentine tango with partner Maks Chmerkovskiy garnered 57 points, while Bristol landed on the bottom with 53 points. Jimmy Kimmel, who had Brandy and Maks on his show last night, called it an "outrage."
One "DWTS" viewer even wrote on CNN's Facebook fan page that he thought ABC was having folks dial the wrong number to vote for Brandy. "Dancing with the Stars SCAM!!!! Something went WRONG!!! The number that was given out to vote for Brandy went to someone's HOUSE! The lady that answered said that her phone has been ringing non stop with people casting votes for Brandy because Dancing With The Stars gave out the wrong number!!!"
ABC, however, told CNN in a statement that "considering the phone number is toll free," the network "can't imagine" such an occurrence happening, and is unsure of "how this would be valid in any way.”
Another iReporter, Omekongo Dibinga from Washington D.C. isn’t buying the theory that Bristol Palin outlasting many on “DWTS” means there’s a conspiracy afoot.
“Really, people? Is this how low we’ve become that we want to politicize a dance show? What show that has people voting is not political…what show is about talent these days?” he queries, pointing to Sanjaya’s run on “American Idol.”
Either way, iReporter Cordsen predicts that "IF Bristol wins it all, 'Dancing With The Stars' will have just destroyed their entire show."
