It's a bird! It's a plane! It's… Conan O'Brien?!
Staffers at NBC Universal in Burbank, California, were likely scratching their heads at the sight of a giant orange blimp hovering over the area yesterday afternoon.
It turns out the citrus-colored aircraft belonged to O'Brien, who used the blimp to promote his new TBS talk show, "Conan" – and perhaps annoy rival Jay Leno. Sources tell Deadline.com the red-haired host's blimp could definitely be seen from the studio where Leno tapes the "Tonight Show."
"Conan" has gotten off to a decent start since its November 8 premiere. As Marquee previously reported, the show averaged 1.5 million adults in the 18-34 demographic and nearly 2.2 million adults between the ages of 18 and 49 for its first week. Overall, the average for the week was 2.9 million viewers.
Leno averaged 3.9 million among total viewers for the week while Letterman drew 3.7 million.
