She's already worn a Kermit the Frog dress, and now Lady Gaga is going to get even closer to the real thing: The pop superstar is set to join the world's most famous amphibian in the new Muppet movie.
New York magazine's Vulture reports that Production Weekly has learned about a slew of celebrities slated to appear in the upcoming "The Muppets." "The Office" stars John Krasinski and Ed Helms will reportedly play members of Gaga's entourage, while Jane Lynch, Jack Black, Donald Glover and Danny Trejo will also have roles.
Actor Paul Rudd will be part of the film too, although Vulture reports that he will provide the voice of Walter, the iPhone-loving Muppet who is roommates with Gary, a human character played by "How I Met Your Mother" star Jason Segel.
Segel, who co-wrote the script for "The Muppets," tells Entertainment Weekly, "Walter has a little bit of a self-confidence issue because he's the only person like him that he's seen aside from the Muppets. His dream is to meet the Muppets and be around people who are like him."
Walter may get his wish: The plot of the film – set to open Christmas 2011 - centers on Gary and Walter attempting to stop the demolition of the Muppet Theater by reuniting Kermit and the gang for a big song-and-dance show.
