It looks like Batman will be fending off quite a few women in the "The Dark Knight Rises," the third installment of the franchise about the Caped Crusader.
Deadline.com reports that director Christopher Nolan is planning to cast two females in the next of the Batman flicks. Though details are being kept under wraps, one woman will likely be the love interest of the superhero's alter ego Bruce Wayne, and the other, a villain. Hmm… Catwoman, perhaps?
Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal played Wayne's loves in each of the previous Batman films, respectively.
The famous names being considered for the "Dark Knight Rises" read like a Who's Who of Hollywood's A-list actresses. Among them: Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley.
While it remains to be seen which two lucky ladies will become a part of the blockbuster Bat-series, Deadline has reported that "Inception" star Tom Hardy has already been cast in the film and will most likely play a villain.
"The Dark Knight Rises" is due in theaters in July 2012.
