On what would have marked Brittany Murphy's 33rd birthday, her mother has announced today that she is writing a book to celebrate her beloved daughter.
"Brittany was a kind, loving person who enjoyed each day, she was my life," Sharon Murphy tells CNN in a statement. "This book will be my way of celebrating and honoring her extraordinary life and career."
News of the "Clueless" star's sudden death last December shocked the world, reigniting rumors of an eating disorder and drug abuse, as well as sparking gossip of possible foul play from husband Simon Monjack, who died in May.
An L.A. coroner later ruled that the actress's official cause of death was pneumonia, with anemia and over-the-counter and prescription drugs as contributing factors.
“I am looking forward to everyone reading the accurate account about my daughter, her life, loves and career," says Sharon Murphy, who has not yet set a release date for the book. "A portion of the proceeds that I receive from the book will be donated to charity.”
