As we approach the end of season 2, Kenny Powers has two things in mind – redemption and revenge. Thankfully, for KP, last night’s show offered up a bit of both.
Things kicked off in Tampa, Florida, where we’re reintroduced to Pat, the faux baseball executive who threw KP’s life for a loop at the end of last season. After Pat’s coming clean with his rehab sponsor, we quickly get the idea that the theme of Chapter 12 revolves around making amends with the past.
Back in Mexico, KP told Stevie it's time pack up their bags and head back to the states. KP even agreed to let Stevie have one last hurrah with Maria, going as far as to offer some advice on where the latter should focus his, um, sexual attention this time around.
Soon enough, Pat showed up at KP’s house equipped with an iPad-stocked gift bag, and let KP know that he has sent a scout down to watch him play for the Charros. The only problem, KP said, is that he doesn’t play for the team anymore.
KP headed over to Sebastian’s place, where the two battle in a stand-off that features bouncy balls, a Mac Book and an emotional breakdown from Sebas (Michael Pena seriously killed it with this character). Sebastian agrees to let KP play one last game for the Charros.
After agreeing to let Stevie marry Maria, KP put on his newly-acquired “Flama Blanca” get-up and travels around Copales to settle some old scores. After sending Aaron and Hector off in a blaze of glory, KP visited Vida and Tony, where he confessed that he wasn't an “ass man” after all.
At last, KP took the mound for the Charros for one more game. After a stellar debut, KP is greeted by Matthew McConaughey (in arguably the best cameo of the series), an agent offering him a shot in the minors with Myrtle Beach. After some good 'ol man-banter, KP accepted and the boys were off to the States.
