With all of the zombies and werewolves in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video, it certainly wouldn't look out of place in today's cineplex.
According to Deadline.com, the late superstar's estate is in negotiations to turn his spooky classic into a movie.
Kenny Ortega, who directed Jackson's 2009 posthumous tour film "This Is It", is set to helm the project, while "Hangover" writer Jeremy Garelick is expected to pen the script.
Though plot details are hush-hush, Deadline.com reports that the movie will likely be based on the hit 1984 song's scary folklore, including late horror master Vincent Price – who narrated the tune – and the town he grew up in.
Jackson's 14-minute "Thriller" video, released in December 1983, famously featured the singer transforming into a werewolf as well as a zombie who dances among the undead. In January 2010, it became the first music video to be inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
