Jamie Foxx sells drama to NBCHe’s already won an Oscar and taught us to blame it on the a-a-a-alcohol. So what's next for Jamie Foxx? Taking a step behind the camera, naturally. The actor/singer just inked a deal with NBC for a drama being described by Deadline.com as “Le Femme Nikita meets The Sopranos,” the network confirmed to CNN. Deadline reports that the Foxx shot a trailer for the film over the summer for the proposed project about a young girl raised in a mafia family who is hidden in an orphanage after their murder. She then grows up to become a lawyer by day and a trained killer by night out to avenge the deaths of her family. The trailer – co-written and co-directed by Foxx and Deon Taylor – reportedly starred Selma Blair, Paul Sorvino, Tony Sirico and James Russo. Foxx and Taylor recently launched No Brainer Films. A spokesperson for NBC tells CNN that the planned series currently has no title and is being referred to as "the Jamie Foxx/Jorge Zamacona project" as Zamacona has been tapped to write the script and executive produce.

@peaches, you're right, you DON'T know me. Have you seen Jamie's stand up routine? He's a RACIST! The only reason there are white actors in this project is because there aren't very many decent black actors and the ones who are decent are unavailable (probably working for Tyler Perry).
Deb, you're an idiot. The Italian mafia families were not black. And the fact that you've watched Jamie's stand up routine, know who Tyler Perry is as well as who is working for him, and are familiar with what black actors/actresses are "decent" makes it seem like all you do is focus on black people....Envious perhaps???

I've watched Dexter since day 1 and reading the synopsis of this show didn't remotely remind me of Dexter or its plot. I don't see this story being successful, but it isn't Dexter.
Second, the names listed as "reportedly starring" are white actors. How does this make Jamie Foxx racist?
Murdered parents... Highly functional in society... Skilled killer... Works for law enforcement??? So he is pretty much piggy-backing off of the Showtime series, "Dexter"!!!
Dexter (the show) has already perfected this premise, got anything more original?!
