Rapper Rhymefest to run for office in Chicago

One of Kanye West’s friends and collaborators is taking his talents from the rap game to the political one.

Rapper Rhymefest, whose real name is Che Smith, announced at a press conference on Thursday his intentions to run for alderman of the 20th Ward at the Chicago City Council.

“We can use Hip-Hop to engage our youth and the community,’’ Smith said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. “It’s often portrayed as a weapon. It’s not. It’s a tool.’’

The 33-year-old Smith, a Grammy winner who co-wrote West’s hit “Jesus Walks," is a native of Chicago, Illinois.

And if I am elected, everyone in the 20th ward will get free fried chicken, 30 chickosticks a month, a case of strawberry soda each week, and a free package of kool-aid. Watermelons will be half price.

He DOES! It looks like some mentally challenged fat kid got a pair of Kanye's glasses as a prize and decided to wear them on the bus back to the group home.

If elected I will get a job for every American, end hunger worldwide and have Cherry Dr Pepper running from every faucet. I will also wrestle Bill O'Reilly @ Wrestlemania in a steel cage match.

He seems to have a conscience and to be socially conscious which is what should be in office. Hey, why not give Che the helm? He seems to have the passion that conventional politicians lack- and passion can get things done along with resourcefulness whereas resourcefulness without passion is useless.

    He can have my vote!
