Jon Stewart: Rally to restore sanity is not politicalJon Stewart dropped by "Larry King Live" on Wednesday to chat about his upcoming rally in Washington, D.C. on October 30, and, of course, politics. However, if you've been guessing that Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity is going to be political in nature, you've been guessing wrong. (It's not the anti-Glenn Beck rally, either, Stewart points out.) "It is in fact, not a political rally. This is for the people that are too busy, that have jobs and lives and are tired of their reflection in the media as being a divided country and a country that’s ideological and conflicted and fighting, this is for those people," Stewart told King, although he's still being vague on the details.
"What we’re doing is to use the rally format to do the same thing we do with our shows. Using the rally through the satirical format. The book is like our show, but in book form," Stewart explained, adding that they do have some guests and musical entertainment lined up. "It's going to shock, maybe not even just this world, other worlds. Maybe aliens," he said. "Everybody should just wait and see what it is and make their own decisions."
