'Gone Baby Gone' actress arrested for alleged break-in

An actress who was handpicked by Ben Affleck to appear in his directorial debut, “Gone Baby Gone,” is facing changes for an alleged break in and lying to police.

CNN affiliate WHDH reports that South Boston native Jill Quigg was arrested for breaking and entering after police said witnesses spotted her and a male friend walking away from an apartment with a flat screen TV and printer.

According to the criminal complaints, Quigg’s initial statements to police were that she witnessed a man break into the apartment, ran after him and then picked up the stolen items after the burglar dropped them.

Police reports stated that Quigg admitted the burglary was drug related.

Quigg’s long-time boyfriend, Larry Schwindt, denied his girlfriend went into the apartment.

“She did not go into the building,” Schwindt said. “She didn’t have nothing on her. She tried to walk away, but she was with them so they took her too.”

Quigg played the foul-mouthed friend of Amy Ryan’s character. According to IMDB.com, Ryan told late night talk show host Jay Leno that she used recordings of Quigg’s voice to nail the South Boston accent she used in the film.  Ryan was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her portrayal.
