Alec Baldwin: I can't marry Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Alec Baldwin wants you to know it’s not his sexual orientation that’s keeping him from marrying “Modern Family’s” Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who is openly gay.

Baldwin is the latest celebrity to get involved with Fight Back New York, a political action committee working to remove senators from office who “stand in the way of equality,” as the "30 Rock" star puts it.

Ferguson released a comedic video for the committee back in August, in which he professes his love for Baldwin, but says the pair can’t be married in New York “because a bunch of stupid senators, last year, voted against my rights.”

Baldwin responded in a video released Wednesday:

“As a result of [Ferguson’s] video, a vast and malicious whisper campaign has emerged alleging that I can’t marry Jesse because I’m not gay … There is one reason and one reason only why I can’t marry Jesse in New York next year: The New York State Senate.”

He adds: “Because no one tells a New Yorker that they can’t marry Jesse Tyler Ferguson.”
