M.I.A. opts to wear burqa to Scream AwardsWhen it comes time to decide between the safe fashion choice and the headline-creating option, it's not a surprise that M.I.A. would choose the latter. The musician showed up at Spike TV's 2010 Scream Awards over the weekend wearing a burqa, a head-to-toe ensemble worn by some Muslim women. Even before M.I.A. decided to wear the outfit, burqas were making news because of a ban that will soon come into effect in France. M.I.A.’s version was colorfully strewn with flowers and hearts along with the phrase “I love you." Whatever fashion statement M.I.A. was aiming to make, she chose to wear a different eye-catching outfit for her performance, which included a blue wig and some very M.C. Hammer-esque pink pants. You can see it for yourself when the Scream Awards airs on Spike tonight at 9 p.m.

Willow Smith on Lady Gaga: She's a free girl, babyIf you thought Will Smith was an international superstar, get ready for his daughter Willow. The 9-year-old has become a mini music sensation thanks to her infectious new single, "Whip My Hair." In the buzzed about video, which premiered Monday, Willow sports a heart-shaped hairstyle and enters a silent, stark white lunchroom before shaking things up by releasing her braids, dipping them in paint, and well, whipping her hair back and forth.

It's all about Kim on 'Real Housewives of Atlanta'Tell me “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans: Am I the only one who would be totally content to watch an entire episode of just Kandi commenting on Kim’s foolishness? That’s almost what we got with this week’s episode. It was made all the better thanks to Kandi’s deadpan delivery of her opinions about Kim who, along with Sweetie (really, that’s Kim’s assistant’s name), traveled to Palm Springs to perform at the White Party. Okay, it does feel a little wrong to type the word “perform” to describe what Kim did. She basically walked around the stage to “Tardy for the Party” while trying to avoid a wardrobe malfunction as hot bodied dudes gyrated about. Good times.

Shannen Doherty: I own up to my mistakes“Beverly Hills, 90210” star Shannen Doherty is opening up about learning from her mistakes. The actress just finished her first book, “Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude," a title she chose because "You can either be a bad girl in life, or you can become a badass," she explained in an interview with Parade. "It means owning who you are and being compassionate and knowing when you've made a mistake and not repeating it," Doherty added. "And, also not being afraid to kick some ass and take names."

Anne Hathaway's relationship deal breaker? FraudAnne Hathaway is one actress who clearly has a sense of humor. Hathaway opens up about romantic relationships in Vogue's November cover story, and when the interviewer asked her what her “deal breakers” are when it comes to men, she paused for a moment before responding, “Uh . . . fraud?” and exploding with laughter. Read the full interview with Anne Hathaway The actress was of course referencing her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, who in 2008 was sentenced to more than four years in prison on fraud charges. Mel Gibson joins cast of 'Hangover 2'It looks like Mel Gibson's headed for a "Hangover." The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the 54-year-old actor will join Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha in the upcoming film, "The Hangover 2." In this sequel to the Sin City-set comedy, the rowdy gang of guys makes their way to Bangkok, where they encounter a tattoo artist played by Gibson. Though much of the story line is hush-hush, a source tells the Hollywood Reporter Gibson's cameo is "pivotal" to the plot, which involved one character getting inked during a night of partying. |
