Like Wolowitz, we also missed Bernadette.
The return of Howard Wolowitz’s former girlfriend made me smile, especially since she's clearly meant to fill the “dizzy blonde” territory that's quickly being vacated by Penny.
“Big Bang Theory” manages to get a lot of mileage out of the gang’s dysfunctional love lives, and I like the balance between the sleazy Wolowitz and the dude just longing to have something more meaningful than cybersex with a “hot troll.”
Is Tom Cruise getting ready for another ride into the danger zone? It sounds like it could happen. According to New York Magazine's Vulture, "Top Gun 2" is in the works and the superstar has agreed to appear in the sequel.
Vulture reports that Paramount Pictures has pursued "Top Gun" producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to film a follow up to their hit 1986 flick about Naval aviators.
Oscar-winning screenwriter (and Cruise pal) Christopher McQuarrie has been tapped to pen the script, which would feature Cruise's Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in a small and not-too-obvious role. In other words, Vulture reports, don't expect to see Maverick as a "grizzled Top Gun flight instructor."
Now we know who “The Talk” will be talking to.
The new CBS talk show featuring a group of female celebrity co-hosts is slated to debut at 11 a.m. on October 18, and the show has released the names of the upcoming week of guests.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lineup will be as follows: model Christie Brinkley on Monday; singer/actress and new “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez on Tuesday; former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Melissa Rycroft and former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford on Wednesday; actress Chandra Wilson on Thursday; and then actress Jamie Lee Curtis, “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Rick Fox and professional dancer Cheryl Burke will stop by on Friday.
“The Talk” is drawing comparisons to ABC’s “The View” with its format of female celeb co-hosts chatting about various topics. The show will be hosted by Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne , Holly Robinson Peete, Sara Gilbert, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
After one of the best episodes in recent memory last week, "30 Rock" took a big chance on Thursday night with a live episode that didn't miss a beat (at least on the east coast).
The episode was on the "Saturday Night Live" stage at the actual 30 Rock, and some of it, especially the fake advertisements, came across like another episode of "SNL."
For the most part, though, it kept up the show's fast pace pretty admirably, even with a live studio audience cheering and applauding when stars like Matt "I also need you to Tivo 'Bones' for me in case I survive" Damon or Jon Hamm showed up.
Looks like Wonder Woman may have some competition when she makes her way back to the small screen. Following recent reports that the Amazing Amazon is returning to TV comes the news that ABC is working on a series about "The Incredible Hulk."
According to Deadline.com, the show starring the big green monster is one of several superhero-oriented shows that Marvel Television has pitched to ABC. No actors are yet attached to the live-action project about physicist Bruce Banner, who transforms into the Hulk when angry.
As comic book fans know, this isn't the first time the character has gotten the screen treatment.
Besides CBS's popular 1978-82 "Incredible Hulk" TV series featuring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, there have also been two "Hulk" films – a 2003 version starring Eric Bana and a 2008 reboot with Edward Norton in the title role. Mark Ruffalo will also go green for Marvel's upcoming "The Avengers" superhero-ensemble flick.
When it comes to "The Dilemma," Vince Vaughn is conflicted.
Though Universal Pictures pulled the phrase "Electric cars are gay" from the comedy's trailer after both GLAAD and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper complained that such words are insensitive and harmful, the 40-year-old actor now says he wishes the language had been left in.
"Let me add my voice of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of people for their differences, whatever those differences may be," Vaughn said in a statement to CNN.
